Clutch low and high.

  Yesterday went for some test-driving with my friends and found that some cars have high clutch position, other low. 1 SE told about the possibility of adjusting the clutch in position. He said his demo car was changed to high to prevent tester from playing too much on the car.
  
  So is it that simple to shift the cluth position?

  Sometimes, their clutch pad is so worn out, you have to go really high.

  its actually rather simple. Trace your clutch cable from the car, and you should be able to see a cable connecting to the gearbox with 1 nut and another locknut(another nut to lock the nut). just adjust it with a spanner, or drive to a nearby garage and get them to adjust for u

  can be done n rather simple. never done it myself though simple coz my workshop guys take less than 5 mins to adjust mine.

  So that is their game. So those test-drive cars are tunned to prevent reving. Next time I will ask the clutch position before test-driving it.

  u can still rev the hell out of any car if they place the clutch in a high position wat

  I think the logic is that you can't change gear as fast when it is in high position.

  Of course you cannot change gear if the clutch is still engaged to the drive train? You got to floor it to disengage it completely?

  if thats the logic behind them purposely adjusting the clutch position, i dun think the ppl selling cars very smart lor. rev high will result in more wear and tear but change gear fast hardly affects anything at all. what they have done is only prevent u from changing gear fast then

  Actually don't know what they are thinking too. Anyway, just don't like the feeling of a high biting point for clutch. Good to know this can be alter easily. Thanks!
