i have been following this forum for months now so i finally decided to join. (also cause my TP is next week la) Haha.
My TP is next Wed (8 June) at CDC 1.55pm. Any idea wat's the exact time the test will finish? my supervisor expects me to be back in school by 330pm. I'm at Temasek Poly. I heard after the test, if you pass (let's hope i do), you'll be made to watch a short video. So.. can anyone out there help? And what do i have to look out for? Basically my instructor (private) said i'm good. No major mistakes or anything. I just dont wanna be over confident. You know?
Alot of questions i wanna ask about cars as well. Learned alot through this forum!
But now's not the time. Heehee. Just gonna concentrate on passing first.

Whole test will take abt 45 mins to 1hr...but should be less than that. If you pass than they'll make you watch a safety video but you'll be too happy to watch that video if u pass on yr first try
If you pass, there'll be some waiting time after the tester de-briefs you, becuz you have to apply for yr license at the Traffic Police Counter, wait a while for it to be processed then go and watch yr short 10 min video clip. Prepare $50 for yr license payment ...and Good Luck for yr test -

i got 2 sis, 1 v blur, 1st time pass, but still drive v lousy
another sis, v smart, take 6 times liao still fail, but she drive very well, better than my blur sis.

You'll definately be late for school if you pass your TP lolz.. i had to wait for almost 2 hours the other time... Yeah....why dun you just skip the day's classes, I'm sure you won't miss much in a day's lessons anyway (I was from TP too...

I wanted to skip my whole day's lesson, but my supervisor from the Student Internship Programme (SIP) didn't allow.
Cause i'm doing in-house internship. Dunno if you guys heard of that before but yeah, it sucks.
She saw my TP receipt say test is 1355-1440. So she said she wanted me back by 330pm. I guess i won't get a chance to get my license that day. Maybe will check out the queue then see how. Heheh!
You know what? The most unluckiest thing happened to me! I lost my PDL just last Thursday! And my TP is so near! Now i gotta waste another 30 bucks to get another PDL on Monday!
Sigh.. i better pass. So wasted my 30 bucks.
Just the other day i had a lesson in the circuit, i have problem on the slope. Kinda panicked somewhat. You know when you start off from the slope (item 12,13 i think) you gotta step accelerator until 2000-2500rpm then start to release clutch then after you get you clutch on biting point you'll feel your car edging forward. Lastly release handbrake right?
I accelerated until 6000rpm (could hear the engine rev) yet my car just rolled backwards. My instructor said he can tell that i'm nervous. Never had a problem like this before! Got another lesson today, probably will test my starting-off-slope techniques again outside on the main roads. Hope i'll have enough confident for wednesday. Thankfully it's not an Immediate Fail if i don't roll more that 1 metre , right?

Most probably you released your clutch too fast...

either u didnt release ur clutch or mayb ur car's clutch is spoil.. clutch slip.. RPM goes up but no power..

hmmm,never had a problem with that.you just have to step on the accelerator,release the clutch and step more on the accelerator,then release the handbrake.hope u pass!

ya they asked u watch a video which is showing the dangers of driving fast, etc.. i think it 15min or wad.. cant rem.. anyway rem to bring extra cash for the lic.. -
Someone found my PDL and passed it to a teacher to pass it to me. The weird thing is i dunno how they traced my handphone number cause it's not on my PDL nor appointment card (pte instructor).
Hope that's a good sign.
Gonna start practice at 12noon tomorrow.
Hope i'll pass.
I seem to be fine on the roads, except that after doing so many routes i sometimes tend to drive and give signal before my instructor tell me to.

tell the tester you have a lorry of hooligan friends outside the driving school waiting for you to pass so can drive them for an afternoon tea.

i failed my TP.
stupid guy was asleep. and he didn't tick much. but go upstairs only he just randomly tick. look for more to tick. and you know they keep a record of what mistakes me made? mine was like the shortest (with 2 others), the rest the mistakes damn alot.

Me myself is also from tp and i passed for not even 2 mths. actually my test time was 8am in the morning and was probably the 1st candidate that the tester was gonna test me. I did everything smoothly and gotten less than 10pts. So i think I brightened up his day abit?
anyway, just dont make any silly mistakes like Speed too slow for road conditions or insufficient acceleration. Abit of here and there( imagine 2 pts each) can cost u dearly. u cannot afford to lose too many pts.
Just make sure u realise your mistakes now and dont repeat them again. If still in doubt, dont hesitate to practice as many times as possible during warm up.
But lastly, everything still boils down to the tester's mood.
