  Spider is a common Italian term for convertible,i.e Maserati Spyder, Ferrari 360 Spider etc..

  GTR - Grand Turisumo Racer ( usually wirtten as GT - R, with a dash in between )
  VVTI - variable valve timing injection
  V-TEC - Variable valve Timing and lift Electronic Control.

  Barchetta is FIAT terms for roadster/convertible..

  if u go tot italiancars website. they explain why certain terms are used..very intersting one..alfa romeo is by far, the oldest..n also mentor of Enzo ferari.

  I would rather say that the whole ferrari organisation is there at Modena, not only factory, but HQ and everything. Italy firms are usually small, so they concentrate on just one or very few locations.
