As a 'L plate driver' the only concern for usage of diff cars should be the sensitivity of the clutch, brakes, accel pedal, the stiffness of the steering, and probably the 'tightness ratio' of the handbrakes. The rest I dont think you will feel a difference when you are
1) travelling < 50kmh most of the time. At most 70kmh
2) Doing gear change at rpm of at most 3000-4000
You should be more concerned with driving techniques. Demister lines and dimensions are mostly the same. (You wun be able to tell the difference!!)
