  Actually it is 660CC turbo. I really suspect the engine is same as my Pajero Mini Turbo. But mine is DOHC 20 Valve. Dunno about Copen. I think I will check it out.

  I always notice that at 80Km/h its 4000rpm.
  But the engine is taking it fine. It only gets noisy (wind) when going at 120km/h. Never run above that bcoz its too light after that.
  FC is about 8-9 km per litre.

  Pajero Mini not good leh.... so small cc and somemore must service turbo....should have chosen the Vitara leh( not the Grand)

  u still can get the mr2 turbo...but its on indent basics...

  neh, dun think so. mazda made headlines with their "NA" renesis rotary engines which delivered power along w meeting strict emission standards. i doubt they'll take a step back by offering a turbo version of the rx8. unless some aftermarket company is offering it as a complete machine but even then, i'd reckon it'll have probs passing lta requirements and make it to sg in that form.
