What you guys think about the lancer 1.6 cvt?

I have seen lots of these on the roads and they seem to be more common than the other sunny/corollla/etc... models, wonder why... Is there anything special about it?

Sporty looks, but auto car for the lazy lot
.....or those who just want to drive leisure. Spacious, cheap, Japan-built, why not?
Those who have issues with this model is either because of the noisy engine (maybe just a little) or the shaky foundation of the company "Mitsubishi" itself. -
bo leh. one sale exe told me auto car fetch higher resale because most singaporeans are driving auto. It will be harder to find ppl who want to buy manual car. How true is that??

True. But I would rather get the manual one. Cheaper, stronger, more FC-wise. Of course nothing beats the feeling of gear shift.

Heard from some mechanics that the CVT pickup is not that good... some people recommend to buy the manual version of the LANCER...
I'm driving the manual version...FC is excellent... clocked best 16.7km/l
average is about 14.7km/l, going around singapore...getting stuck in traffic, air con on, hi fi on...
I dunno about you though..but I find toyota corolla very very common in singapore roads... lancer is still alright..but getting common too... -
the sport model better...lol....

No-one who likes the feeling of powerful engine would be content with an auto transmission car. At least those tri-tronic and stuff might satisfy some, but I believe most will go for manual.
Anyway, Nissan's cars are powerful at a cost. Out front might be cheaper, but you are bleeding every month through fuel.
I think spec-wise, the most powerful car at that price range would be Vios. -
I wonder why so many people mind if a certain brand or model of a car is common on the road? What's wrong with driving cars which are common on the road?

It is about the idea of individuality. Driving a common car might imply a "follow the crowd but knows nothing" image to the buyer. Or just the feeling of wanting to stand out. firstly, broquet is a "fuel charger" not "air booster" (wat the hell is an "air booster" anyway?

secondly, u fixed bi turbos on ur sunny? cool. may i ask ur injectors now using how big? wat is the size of ur intercooler? ur exhaust diameter how big? ur turbos sequential? wat size ur turbos? ur engine now how many hps? u using which management system to control the engine? hate it when ppl start talkin big without proof. -

I'll be getting my Sunny FL N16 next mth, but already planning to mod it to improve its power and FC, as long as it doesn't void the warranty.
may I know what mods did u make on your Sunny? care to share? thanks alot! -
Hi skywalker,i am the scott. Some of the postings on top are by my untrustable friends. Well,for sunny,u can try to change air filter and fix on the broquet.But if u looking for a cheaper air intake,den may be u can try RMK 202,if u're keen of that,i can let u know the authorise dealer.

i'm driving a lancer manual as well, no regrets!
PS Joey> How did you achieve 16+km/l?!? wat rpm did you upshift? My best was 13+ nia. I'm damn envious of your FC leh.
Did you do any mods? fuel saver, broquet etc? I've just switched to an open pod air filter and throttle responsive and pickup is much better. At the expense of FC of cos.

mayb he drop TD-03 or hybrid GT 30/35,injectors no need, connect steel breaded brake hose from fuel pump to deliver fuel can liao...better the 660cc injectors....
intercooler no need lah,typical good 3" to 4" core bout $1000 is expensive, put the coffee shop the fan wid mist spray can work...
mayb his exhaust is a side plant wid a throtter plate to swop them//?
microtec or motac piggybag,watever processor or chip,all can throw away, no need to remap at all...
Use pentium II processor or AMD 800Mhz powerful liao..heheheeh
but i really wonder, if the sunny never add gasket to drop compresson can tahan how long... -
