Do we really need sales exec?

First, let me apologize to all sales exec for cars or anyone that I offend if any
I udnerstand these sales exec actualyl earn a lot from car buyers for every cars they sell. We hear so much complain abt car buyers like ourself that we get bad service all the time.
I even heard these people can manage to earn 5 digits income every month from the car sales. in sg, everyone loves cars.And car lovers actually do all kind of research in cluding the financials to determine which car they will buy eventually. Thus, my question is, do car dealers such as borneo, kah motors, komoco, C&C etc really need to pay these rude (a few) sales exec so much just to do some paper work for us when we buy cars?
When there are no sales exec, does it mean that singaporeans will stop buying new cars? I doubt so. Without these sales exec, i suppose there will be more people thronging these car showrooms to buy. -
Car showrooms will need sales executive and not just cashier.
Customer are buying a real car and not a toy car. They dun just go in and buy. They will need time to consider what car to buy. As such, SE are there to help the customer and most importantly to do follow-up. They are there to provide infos and to make customer buy from them. More SE closed more than half of their deals through follow-up, money dun drop from the sky everyday.
As a customer, u shld make use of the sales executive. Ask them questions, make them do things for you before u decide to buy from them or not. If they are not willing to help, by all means, get another SE.
If the customer never open his eyes and buy from a FU SE who is not willing to help, i think he deserve the bad service. -

However, given the point that consumers dun buy on impulse. Without a S E, it will force them to do more research and have more options to consider.
My point is not about marketing "ploy" of these companies. For instance, if you like Toyota Altis a lot, you will still buy it if it is slightly more expensive if compared within the same range.
Thus, at that point, do you still need a S E to explain thoroughly how this car work etc. I mean anyone can do such a job. Not only a S E.
Maybe we do only need a S E to give you freebies -
We need SE, but they are overpaid
The cars usually sell for themselves, SE juz there to assist customer.
As one of my fren (SE) said to another fren (Marketing Exec in car industry), the Mktg ppl spend money but the SE reap the rewards... haha.. -

U need more info on the cars. help in selling yr old car, have questions abt financing, etc. There are only a cashier counter in PI A and no SE to help.
But at PI B, there are SE to answer yr queries if you manage to get a SE to help u.
3 days later, yr are still thinking which company to buy from. As you were thinking, the SE at PI B called and offer you answers and solutions.
So which company are u likely to buy from?
There are push and pull factors. A good car will push u to buy them, good service will pull you to choose it over others.
I have tried working in car sales, but too bad, I CMI, so maybe my serivce not good enough.

Beside selling the car, they also need to arrange your financing, insurance, road tax, COE bidding, registration, over trade, etc...you think you buying toy car meh...if you are so stingy, just take taxi lah...maybe you dont even need a taxi driver since you got a license right? -

Myth 1: All car SEs earn big bucks!
Truth: Only those who work for the best-selling Japanese/Korean brands or German brands earn big bucks. Just check out the number of car SEs working for other brand dealers or parallel importers that don't even own a car.
Myth 2: Car SEs are overpaid!
Truth: Most car SEs only have a miserably low basic (<$500) and depend on the finance/insurance/vehicle/used car/accessories commissions to earn a living. If every customer were to squeeze their SEs to return their commissions in the form of giving freebies, then what will the SEs earn? The actual ones making big bucks are the car distributors/dealers, not their SEs. Moreover, car SEs are wearing multiple hats: car salesman, insurance agent, used car dealer, bank officer etc. -
If it is so good being a car SE or any other industry SE, y not u change ur job then?
Then maybe u wont b complaining anymore..
think u 4got to mention many Se who work n work but wasted their time n effort getting nothing out of their job? Not geeting enuff n being forced to change job?
I feel tat sales is the backbone 4 all co. getting more constructive competition n improvement 4 the company n market...
