Interesting...
All cars running on Michelin tyres went into pits after the formation lap, due to safety reasons.
Michelin tyres have technical issues on using the tyres through the last turn which is the fastest at around 300km/h.
the most interesting race i have ever seen in F1 so far...
there are now only 6 cars running in the race, and its Ferrari 1 2 now...
and Minardi might take 3rd...
Should all of them pull out of the race?
Or should they carry on because they make the right tyre choice? -
Its a farce.
Do you see the crowd's reaction? They're not happy. -
It's a bloody farce. Nobody is happy at the other forum I visit.

well, the drivers asked for a chicane and since Ferrari said no, FIA said no
oh well... Minardi wins its first points! -
i will watch till the end. I want to see how they going to celebrate later... hahah whether got champange or not... haha

They can celebrate all they want. There ain't spectators left to cheer anyone on.

Don't think they will reall celebrate.
But its not their fault either.
They already spent money on this race and the higher the placing the money price money they will get.
So... its all about money, can't expect them to just quit.
And the chicane is out of question.
Because FIA said that you can't add a chicane just because of you want to slow down Michelin runners
it will affect the Bridgestones runners.
Actually since there are only 6 cars, why don't the other teams run and maybe with 1 or 2 tyre stops?
They will still get some points. -

Michael and Ferrari got their points too easy and with luck on their sides. Canadian they got second n third help by the safety car and now becos the rest pull out last min. Nothing wrong but to me they got nothing to be proud of their achievement.

its a shame that ferrari, as the current world champion, has to resort to such just to catch up with the front runners.
what is there to be proud of beating minardi and jordan? -
Ferrari should have just killed their engine and let Minardi challenge Jordan and give the max 10 pts to one of the team.
I think it will be damn cool to see a Minardi on the podium... -
I think ferrari should have taken each other out when schumacher exited the pit lane. Then effectively 2 teams left to contest each other.

then again, my heart goes out to the fans who paid good money and turned up. only 2 watch 6 cars with a predictable 1-2 ending. well, michellin really screwed up big time on this race -
i decided not to watch after the hearing the announcement. what is there to watch with only 6 cars?

After so much preparation and money spent they cannot don't race.
changing circuit is like unfair also
think the Michelin runners should race but with change of tires when they feel its time.
But with the new rules, change tire cannot refuel. Meaning at least 2 more stops to change tires. -
I think it's cos the tires aren't safe for the drivers... Imagine if all the Michelin drivers got injured cos of the tyre failure... after that, who will drive for the next races? The pit crew ah?
The Michelin tires weren't designed to take the stress... so y endanger the lives of the drivers? The teams would just end up losing even more if they lost their drivers... -
Michellin offered solutions to the FIA should the tyres be used. FIA didn't accept any of their proposals. The teams in fact, supported michellin's solutions, but it still had to go thru FIA. So they can't bend the rules just for Michelin, so FIA told them so change tires, suffer the penalty.
7 teams agree to race with a chicane. Let Bridgestone runners take top spots on grid but race without championship points. Who will want this? Its not according to the rules of FIA again. Without points, i go home liao lor...
So ultimately, blame the FIA for changing these stupid rules.

the "no tyre change" rule is stupid...
F1 is becoming more and more dangerous...
it started when they took away mechanical grip in terms of slicks and went with aerodynamic grip in the wings.. then they limited that too...
lot of other things were added to make things even more dangerous.. does anyone remember the Benetton fireball in the pits after the team tampered with the refuelling rig?
how about everyone's tyres being turned into mush by the end of the race.. and worse, check out Raikonnen's suspension failure.. if he had come in to change that tyre, he'd be penalised...
in the same race, someone's tyre blew out, and almost wiped out a few other people...

And thanks to the 6 car race that day, all that is going to change.

yeah, adding a chicane to slow speeds would allow the michellin runners to participate, but to whose advantage? bridgestones did it rite and their tires could rise up to the challenges of the circuit. y shd FIA allow their performance to be stifled juz coz the michellins couldn't make it? i think michellins gotta answer ultimately for this. having said that, i think ferrari gained the prodigal hollow victory at the end of the day. even as a supporter, i find no pride in seeing rubens and mike finish on the podium without a good fight from kimi and alonso..........Originally posted by ditzy:Michellin offered solutions to the FIA should the tyres be used. ferrari is losing this season. thats why they are so desperate.
i feel mercedes have a chance this year.
