u asking easy to fix HID bulb only or convert ur whole headlite to HID? got BIG difference u know?Originally posted by scotts07:Anyone have comments on whether it's easy to fix a HID bulb.
Cheers,
Ya.. For certain cars, may have to change the wires too. If the wire is not able to support the voltage from the HID bulbs, it might overheat and burn away.Originally posted by sunnyMAN:Full package you need to change the circuit to ur bulbs so as to provide a higher voltage to ur lights. Think cheapest is ard $200++..saw at autobac.
Why install HID? It might burn your battery circuit if not installed properly or not compatible. Jus get the philips bulb and put into ur car la..5 mins settled..$75
nah,jus wana go for a change. yellow bulbs see until sian. Those philip white bulbs make me wana slp at night.Originally posted by sunnyMAN:Full package you need to change the circuit to ur bulbs so as to provide a higher voltage to ur lights. Think cheapest is ard $200++..saw at autobac.

then lta approve 4 wat?Originally posted by Rx8driver:HID are to blind ppl
Now that is very questionableOriginally posted by tailslide:then lta approve 4 wat?![]()
i think LTA juz needs OEM approval as some sort of control measures or so called "yardstick" to determine who to point the finger at in the event such cases of "HIDs blinding ppl" pops up.Originally posted by sunnyMAN:Now that is very questionable
i agree dat HID does blind other drivers quite abit. But LTA still approve stock HID to be imported here. But the questionable fact is..why are those aftermarket HID still illegal? If it's bcoz of safety den it dun make sense rite? If it's bcoz LTA wants a level of control over cars with HID..not wanting them to be 'over-bright' etc..k den its still acceptable
Like I've always say..If you wanna 'zeng' and modify, den dun be afraid to get caught. If you wan only legal mods..den maybe flying kite is a better idea..saves $$ too..
Agree.Originally posted by tailslide:... simple solution, anything not from or certified by manufacturer considered illegal. that way, we have a clear guide on the dos and duns of aftermarket mods like HIDs.
H4 refers to the type of bulbs ur car is using. There are also H3, H7 etc. Its like S,M,L for ur clothes..As long as you do not modify ur battery circuit to fit those HIDs. It can never be as bright.Originally posted by Axl:yesterday i went to AMK there to change my bulbs... without any questions they fit on some 'H4' bulbs(with blue tint) for me...
the process is very fast and easy.... but the question is how good are these 'H4' bulbs? compared to HID? it cost me $30... including 2 small white bulbs in place of the small orange bulbs..
i tested my new lamps on the highway.. but not much improvement on illumination expect for the color...
btw.. the shop went on to sell me their array of accessories... like visor, audio package etc...
these tinted bulbs giving off white light are less brighter or at best as bright as ur stock lights. the reason y some ppl would perceive them as being brighter is only because the color of the lights now contrasts greater with objects at night. the wattage of the lights are still the same.Originally posted by Axl:yesterday i went to AMK there to change my bulbs... without any questions they fit on some 'H4' bulbs(with blue tint) for me...
