heres the deal...
after a loooooong decision-making process, i (or rather my dad), have decided to purchase a NEW car instead of a 2nd hand car..
my dad is overseas n have left me to to the dealing/purchasing...
my cuz n i will be gng to two showrooms...
1. kia picanto
2. getz 1.3 (A) 2 door
for those who have bought new cars recently.. i need help..
my question is
1. what can i squeeze from the SE n how best way can i go abt dng it...? any tips?
2. is there like a list of standard accesories anywhere?
3. can help me list the freebies available, not neccesary can be given but its there... so i can print em out for reference.

PS: i noe if i put in more money i can get a certain better make of a car... but these two are within my budget n i like em.. -
given a choice i will rather get the getz or a 2nd honda fit.....but cfm not the picanto..............
U muz put across to the SE dat u wan to buy this car cuz u like the car and not because ur money is only enough to buy this car and u haf no other choices.
When the SE knows u haf the money to buy other cars, they will be more accomadating to you.
and even the price of the car can be reduced and pls ask for as basic assessories as you can.
To me the basic is, alarm,leather seats, sports rims. I dun believe in paying extra for any of this items. It has to come free wif the car if not i dun buy or i find another SE dat can give me these freebies -
Kia Picanto is cheap, yes.
The COE will last you 10-yrs.
But the Kia will probably not last you till then.
Kia also has very low resale value.

when you buy korean cars, should work on the scrap value instead of possible resale value. -

My vote goes to Picanto. Getz 1.3, auto and 3 door some more. It is quite troublesome for a 3 door to be a family (guessing since your dad is involved) car. Plus the FC of Getz is really sometime 1 such consider if budget is in mind (guess also because of the choices you give).
Picanto is going to save you quite a bit, long and short run. Plus the power differents between the Getz and Picanto isn't really significant. Do have a look at Manual Picanto or better test-drive it, before you goes over to get the Getz. -
Korean car isn't that bad nowadays.... so far as wat I can see, minimum can last for 5 years with no major problem.
U buy cheap and u sell cheap... as long as the car that you are interested in is not selling at a premium, you shld be safe...
Take the Getz as an example... $46000 with OMV $9000+ and COE $17000+...
worst case scenario.... after abt 5 years the car cannot last and you need to scrape it... your rebate shld be around $17000+ which makes your yearly depreciation of < $6000... -

Asking for leather seat and window tinting is quite normal for hyundai...
