they quoted the wrong specs. there is only one B series engine cranking out more den 170 ps and dats the EK9 B16B. even den, it produces 185 ps. there is no such engine dat produces 175 bhp stock. i seriously doubt the credibility of a seller who doesn't even know the specs of the car dat he's selling.Originally posted by Rx8driver:http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-SBW3068T-1059.html

Both same Engine??? it's purple not black, fake picture
What's w/ that so BIG air intake and engine that can Rev up to 10 000 RPM, if stock Piston and piston ring, sure burn one lor,
Yes, old Civics EG2 (DelSol), EG6 (Hatchback), EG9 (Ferio) all had DOHC B16A 1 thru 3 engines. High rev. Redlines at about 8 - 9k. Then came the SiR (B16A4)... after that the Civics became family sedans. No more power. Except for the Type R and the 1.8l Civic-S which never came to Singapore.Originally posted by Rx8driver:http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-SBW3068T-1059.html

Actually the JDM B16A2 and 3 were cranking out 170 stock (they were first promoted to be 175 but Honda released more realistic figures to the press after that).Originally posted by tailslide:they quoted the wrong specs. there is only one B series engine cranking out more den 170 ps and dats the EK9 B16B. even den, it produces 185 ps. there is no such engine dat produces 175 bhp stock. i seriously doubt the credibility of a seller who doesn't even know the specs of the car dat he's selling.
rev till 10k rpms? b4 ur piston rings burn, ur valve springs will all bind together and ur valves will start tickling ur piston head first. impossible for a stock engine unless the car modded like mad already. even the highest revving stock B18C got rev cut at around 9k rpms. unless u know the car well, otherwise, best avoid. u never know whether the owner wanna sell 4 fear dat the engine might blow up any moment![]()

...and the B16A4 ? That produced 180ps.
uh uh... the JDM B16A2/3 did put out 170 and the JDM B16A4 was 180. There was a whole debate going on then about the power to weight ratio, body stiffness etc of the EG9 vs SiR with that 10bhp diff.Originally posted by tailslide:*bzzz*
wrong figures bloop. the old B16A2 in the eg6/9 were putting put 160 ps. the newer B16A4 found in the SiR and eg SiRII puts out 170 ps. there wasn't a production B16 in the history of honda dats putting out 180 ps.
cannot be lah. the jdm B16B CTR engine with the high cams, stiffer valve springs, higher compression, moly coated pistons, ported cylinder head, short intake manifold, larger throttle body ......... putting out 185 ps "only". u telling me a normal B16A4 without all these puts out only 5 ps lesser? like dat ppl spend so much money but CTR for wat?Originally posted by Bloop...:uh uh... the JDM B16A2/3 did put out 170 and the JDM B16A4 was 180. I know this cause I had 3 cars with the JDM engines. All rated before import. (of course at diff times over the last 15 years or so... who can afford 3 cars at once?)
those own 1 family car, 1 van and 1 lorry?Originally posted by Bloop...:who can afford 3 cars at once?)
