if there is 88 or even 85 where it much more cheaper, i will go for it. -
98 closer to 100, so is better

the later versions like ME, NT, XP are much more different from 95 &98. -

EXXON/Mobile has the most kiosk follow by Shell or is it the other way round.
BP pull out of SG and SPC had taken over all the BP kiosk in one move.
if you can get pass custom, than go JB pump, it cheaper. -

octane 95 give u better mileage with lesser power whereas the other is another way round. petrol now so X, 95 make more sense leh. with more power how fast can u go?

Even if there is a diff, how much diff can it be? Maybe it can make your car 0.0001 sec faster.

The difference is in the octane rating (RON), 95 vs 98. The higher the rating, the more resistant is the fuel to premature detonation i.e. premature detonation = BAD NEWS FOR THE ENGINE.
Each car has a minimum required octane rating which can be found in the owners manual. That would be just right. Having a higher octane rating than minimum required will not serve a better purpose for the engine. It will just burn a hole in the pocket.
High performance car usually need a higher octane rating due to higher compression ratio from engine or forced induction i.e (turbo/supercharger). -

but the thing is, usually 98 petrols come with more additives,like cleaNING agents. so you get more than just increased octane, you can drive your engine cleaner... haha! souinds like a shell ad. -

Turbo cars min Ron 98.
The others Ron 95 is fine.
But petrol price needs to be check...Tabulek Tahan...

not exactly....those Big CC cars (2.5L and above) and Tuned engines(NA esp those with higher compression) needs higher octane too....

Guess what, the fuel consumption improved! when its drinking 98, the fc is like 10km/litre. when its drinking 95, the fc becomes 12 to 14 km/litre. -

ppl here all very rich. i pump only 92 n tat is the only one i can afford.

98 higher octane level. burn better and generally is cleaner for the engine.
