  do consider carsharing for the 1 year if you are driving often...
  
  As you all should know by now....most rental companies cannot rent out to P plate due to insurance policy...
  
  The only people that can rent to you are either 2nd hand car dealers or private owners...
  
  Pls be advised that rental from 2nd hand car dealers and private are NOT legal...unless is over the weekend or PH from private owners only.

  Car rental is much cheaper than car sharing. In fact, I'll be terminating my membership with Car Coop soon. The only challenge is to find a private car owner who lives near you and willing to rent to you. Legality is a matter that could be circumvented.

  ya...i agree to you totally that car rental is cheaper than car sharing in most cases... however, i had a car rental for a day from rental company and the total distance travelled (about 100km) and time used (24 hrs) is the same if i took a car from my car sharing company...
  
  car sharing allow you to have a car over few hours and return the carpark near your home mah instead of drivng back to the company then take bus back home...unless you stay next or very near to car rental company lor
  
  As for the legality...i was told that chinese newspaper have reported police are catching those people who rent out to individual...
  
  Also, in the event of accident, car sharing offer lower excess by taking up extra insurance...if it happen to private cars from owners...you can expect alot more to pay lor

  Accident is never a concern to me as I'm a safe driver (and I consider myself a skilled driver too ). IMHO, private car rental is the way to go. As I have stated, the challenge is to find someone who lives near you and willing to rent.

  i am also a safe driver...accident can happen 2 ways:
  
  1) you bang into people
  2) people bang into you
  
  case 2 cannot be control by you to most extent...
  although you need no pay for the cost as the person at fault will pay...can you image the hassle the you and owner have to go thru?
  
  Furthermore, if car break down how? no support!
  Towing fee will be bear by you.

  You should have heard about defensive driving.
  
  If someone bangs into you, then it's not a problem to me. It will be a hassle whether it's car rental or car sharing.
  
  If you want to save money, there're certain risks that you have to undertake. It's just like buying comprehensive insurance or third party only. Peace of mind always comes at a premium.

  Parking $90 No log card cannot buy season parking
  ERP = ???
  Summons = ???
  
  To me ... still quite cheap
