Because they're usually luxury cars, and luxury usually means comfort, and comfort usually means not putting in more effort.Originally posted by AE86tofu:But i dun get it...Y most Big CC cars in Sg have autos only(those above 2.0L)
Haha.. This is interesting.Originally posted by digicharat:manual is safer. cause when you are drunk, you wont even be able to move the car cause it keeps stalling.
auto is more dangerous. cause when you are drunk, you start engine, floor the accelerator and you will bang into some tree or wall. or worse, people.
Actually manual is safer, but not due to that reason. The engine brake is more significant, and there is this thing about reversing ...... not sure about it but many commented ...... but I don't understand cause I never drive auto before.Originally posted by tErI-yAkI:Haha.. At 1st gear you should always let go of the clutch slowly and not to throw the clutch. As for the accelerator, once the car starts to move you can slowly depress on it as you let go of the clutch.Originally posted by Yuki85:hey...i have some questions regarding manual cars..i'm currently taking lessons for manual...
when moving off during half clutch (when car starts to move), shld i depress the accelerator first before letting go of the clutch or should i let slowly go of clutch first then depress on accelerator?
i'm not sure wat to do and my instructor keeps scolding me saying that i'm delaying from moving off...
thanks

fren, ppl ask u move off release clutch or depress accelerator first u teach her how to stall the engine for wat?Originally posted by lighthand:At 1st gear you should always let go of the clutch slowly and not to throw the clutch. Ya, actually it is easier to depress accelerator first then engage clutch. However when you are familar with the car, can use the release clutch then depress accelerator thing. Reason, it is damn hard for a new learner/driver to hold that particular half-clutch position so that you can feel the engagment but not too much to stall the engine. For newbie, releasing clutch without gas confirm stall, especially new cars.Originally posted by tailslide:fren, ppl ask u move off release clutch or depress accelerator first u teach her how to stall the engine for wat?
if i recall wat i learnt 10 years ago, correct technique shd be to 1st depress the accelerator to around 3k rpms, release clutch and watch ur rpm drop at biting pt, hold ur clutch and accelerator steady , release handbrakes, if car roll forward then drive off normally, if car roll backwards pull handbrakes and clutch in. (wah can become instructor liaoz)![]()
