a4 vs c-class vs 3series

any comment on the 3 cars above ? I heard only A4 is still assembled in Germany. The rest are from South Africa. Price wise, they are all pretty close. Difference of less than 5k.

i chose A4..
1 reason.. i dont really like the new design of C class and the 3 series..
i would chose the older model of 3 series.. -
speakin in terms of looks, i never like the c class. used to like beemer 3, until the new 3 series and the new A4 came out. now, the a4 tops the list. the 3 looks kinda weird now if u ask me. not comparing other things coz u din specify and theres quite a few specs from each range.

Well i think u ppl are both right and wrong. BMW does have a assembly plant in South Africa and Germany. But wheather the models in SA gets delivered to our shores is another question. Most of them are bound for the American markets

to drive, the merc and bmw are better dynamically. also better ride comfort.

Actually, I was just thinking if i have abt 130k budget, which of the above would i get.
The SE at audi old me that the SA builds both c-class n 3 series. not sure if they come to sg thought.
i ve driven the c-class for two weeks in taiwan, and i must say it is a gem of a car, both on the highway and in the countryside. i like the tiptronic that shift sideways instead of up n down cos i can shift gear with i elbow resting on the center armrest. comfort is good, except the rear legroom is too small with three adults two kids and a baby.
i ve only test drive the A4, but am impress with the 7-speed multironic, the styling, cabin and dash layout, 10-speaker sound system and the rear legroom. the sport mode is pretty impressive too, and was told its FC is good cos its body is aluminium and weighs only 1.3ton. too bad i couldn't try it on the highway
as for the bm3, i actually prefers the look of the last model, thought its rear is even smaller than the c-class. Have not test drive yet, but my friend told me its a driver's car, so maybe i ll go try it.
Without actually trying the 3-series, my vote goes to the A4. -
For a 130k budget, you probably cannot get any of those cars. Rather, I think you can only settle for a VW Passat 1.8T, Saab 9-3 or a Volvo S60 2.0T. 3 series, C class and A4 are priced way above 130k fyi. 320i is already priced beyond the 150k region and likewise for C180. A4 might be slightly cheaper but I do not think the difference is much. IMHO, I would think the S60 2.0T is a good buy. actually, the A4 is abt 130k now. my friend just got it. they have loads of discount n rebate to give on top of the list price.
