Hmm, i suppose then, more accurately, you saw someone who looks like a chinese national (or chinaman.Originally posted by ShutterBug:Chamions indeed - in their very mannerisms.
How to tell? Well, first off, they have a certain look of RAWNESS about them. Overly un-inhibitted, and totally un-shy about themselves.
I once had a China national come up to me for directions. He stepped right up to me, and stood with his face, about 3 inches from mine, and started speaking in his form Mandarin. I told him first in English that I don't understand a single word he just splurted onto my face, took two steps backwards from him and told him in Teochew, to ask someone else.
How would you feel, if I (being a Singaporean) a stranger, walked up to you and put my face 3 inches from yours and started talking? The very proximity in itself, is a violation of personal space!
RAW people, China.
it is very easy to tell chinese nationals apart from locals.Originally posted by nomood:? singapore chinese, or chinese national? or just simply a chinese? how can you tell someone's nationality by just looking @ him?
ya, but let's just say, for a moment, you found out that dude you spotted was singaporean...?Originally posted by ShutterBug:I don't want to lie; this is RACISISM!
Why? Because these are people of China, and they have characteristics that irks the living crap out of me!
I didn't condemn them for no reason. They annoy me!
ya, i'm not disagreeing with you. in fact, i'm quite happy to agree with you guys about their less then wholesome behaviour. It's just that when I cringe whenever singaporeans start to point fingers indiscriminately, as demonstrated by the assumption of booger digging; it *just* has to be a chinaman act, and not something a singaporean would do.Originally posted by ShutterBug:I am, a reasonable and sensible guy. I respect China nationals as human beings, yes. But it stops there.
When I eat at a restaurant, and a couple of chinese men comes and sit next to my table, I'd move everything somewhere else. It isn't that they smell, or they are abnormal in physiques, or that they may have some form of unknown disease. It's the bluddy way they conduct themselves, the level of volume they talk to one another, and general mannersims. It simply makes me lose my apetite!
And yes, someone mention that they don't clearly understand the concept of Queing Up, and that they WANTS to be served first.
All these attributes, sums up my disposition about China nationals. Ok, perhaps, some day in the unforseeable future they'd progress enough to brush up on their characteristics, but for now, I'd give them a WIDE berth. They simple disgust me!
Some of yous, may argue that not all are like that. But hey man, I'm talking majority are ok? When they talk, their saliva is likely to end up on your face!
