Had an accident in car park, Help me! Wat to do now?

Parked in the heavy vehicle parking lot near west coast park.. then this lorry came and reverse into me.. i horn at him but he still hit into my bumper.. in the end i get down and confront him.. Was a nice guy, didn't actually try to shift off responsibilities, so change particulars, lucky car gt disposable camera, took picture of the dent and his lorry.. He told me that when i get to the workshop, to give him a call.. so wat do i do now? muz i go call my insurance company? or juz go to workshop and give him a call?

So call him? means he's going to pay from his own pocket? aniway, the car is not mine, it's my fren's.. he let me use for a year coz he will be away from singapore..

call him up and tell him about the charges. dun need to involve insurance if he's paying i think. 100% full? better be careful. later give salah number how?

i call him juz now already, he said go to his workshop.. but open tomorrow onli.. last night when he give his ic no. i got ask him to take out his IC to tally.. then juz now i call the workshop i get online, the workshop man said muz get him to write in black n white saying that he is at fault.. sianz.. last night in the car gt the accident statement form, then forgot ask him to sign.. juz hope that he won go back on his words..

Hope so.. I read the insurance guideline.. If another person driver the insured car, muz put $2.5 k excess leh!! WTH! juz hope no need go by insurance.... haiz!

I call the workshop guy, he said since that guy who hit onto me willing to pay, so no need report to IDAC or police.. he said this is "private settlement"
then i say ok loh.. But if he go back on his words, i'll go back that car park and wait for his lorry, and poke his tyre..

log a report at IDAC for reporting purpose only and if he siam, then change the report to third party claim. or call 65556111 idac portsdown if u need further info.

hey simple lar..no need all the hassel..if i were you..i will trust that fella..let wad u said..it's so damn true..if he;s gonna deny it..you gotta pay a damn hefty deposit to fight a case wif him to claim his insurance..his idea to get u repair it at his workshop is probably:

1) so dat he wun haf to pay big time when u go to the car agent to do the repairs

2) facilitate payment..repair liao jus ask him to pay his own workshop directly..anyway his car will haf to repair too.

3) his workshop will make sure u only repair those parts damaged by that knock..nothing else

if he denies..dats it for you..its your word against his..no witness no choice..photos also not much use..coz photos show ur front hit his back..clear cut

so.. 5.56 i still need to report the accident? But if the owner of the car is not in singapore, would it be a hassle to make the report??

I heard form my fren say that even if repair already, i don't pay for the repairs first, in case he zhao.. so i muz ask him come down to the workshop and ask him to settle the bill? What if he give excuses say he got work?

i hv similar incident...but initially the guy pushing responsiblility n just pass little $ n said close the case. anyway that the other side of story... ok...we exchange IC# and contact# and the next day we went to workshop together. He paid all the repair cost. Besides he oso thks me for not reporting police n make claim to insuance. As he just a driver of a company, if claim insurance no more NCD and his boss will be upset. He thks me agn b4 he leave the workshop. I recall how resistance he was during the "bang"...keep saying go lah...go make police report. u relax...n try that man. afterall u hv pix with u.

get a quote from workshop and call him. he may want to pay you in cash. but if he finds the cost too high, he may want his insurance to pay.

so,yes call him to let him know how much. then he'll decide how to pay you.

ask the third party to pay the workshop 1st b4 u send your car in for repair. btw pls check if there's any warranty on the repair (parts and paint job). if no have i think it's better to go to your insurance authorised workshop.

tis veh insured wif which insurance company? if it's under AIG AXA NIPPON OR ZURICH, no need to come to idac unless u r claiming NTUC income insured. anyway submitting GIA (SAS) report only takes about 20mins for reporting case only.

mkae police report they wont settle for you if there's no injuries..trust me

and they might even fine you for parking in a HEAVY VEHICLE PARK

Juz now went to workshop at ang mo kio industrial park 2A and get a quote from a workshop there.. that guy joker, he say he take 380 but how much i wan to claim from him is my story la.. he say claim more, he will write according to how much i want in the invoice.. But thinking that he is juz a lorry driver, i ask for $400, $20 for petrol and parking.. And he is a ver nice man, i bring my 2 guys fren wif me, scared later he ambush me and whack me.. Lol..
I was late for 20 mins and he waited in his lorry, i felt pity for him, but my fren said it's either he die or i die..
