The civic has a 50l tank with 7l reserve i think...Originally posted by Honda_Civic:an everage of 13-14km/litre which is much beta than mine..is it because it is auto car, that is why the FC is so high for mine? btw, nobody noes how big is the tank for civic 04? 40 or 60 litres? can someone enlighten me? thanks in advance..
Hi achiever, jus for ur info, my RPM always stay ard 2000-2500rpm, seldom more than tat. Futhermore, i dun floor step my accelerator pedal and most of the time with 1 passenger. Yes, have been heard that civics are known for very good FC but maybe not for the "AUTO". My FC still on the average 10.5km/Litre. Is there anyone driving Civic 04 (A) please enlighten me? thanks.Originally posted by achiever:Dear Mr HondaCivic and MrDakar, the big difference is one is auto car and the other is manual. The real big difference is your right foot and your ears. When driving auto, need to really feel and hear the "power-band" of each gearchange so as to ease off the pedal or step more as the gear engages, basically watch the rpm carefully. May sound complicated but you'll get the hang of it.
I drive a Toyota WISH which has a computer read-out of actual petrol consumption every second -so it teaches you how to maimise the pedal pressure to get the best speed & FC. My 1.8L averages 14.5km perLwith careful driving and I still get 0-100 in 10.5sec. using 95octane, 50%highway and 50%city,most of the time with 1 passenger.
So all these factors also affect your FC, so bottomline is you cant compare the FC of 2 different cars, driving condition and "sensitivity" of your right foot to conclude if there is anything wrong with the car.
Honda Civics has been known for very good FC.
cheers....stephen![]()
