vcool or rikecool

hi everyone, getting my first car soon!(So old then got car) I saw many cars nowadays got this vcool or rikecool thing. Looks very cool. Anyone know where I can install them and what is the price to install them on a 5 door hatchback?
Or should I go malaysia to do? HEard many ppl say it's cheaper over there, but dunno whether they will comply with our standard here anot...
ANy suggestions for me? THANKS!! -
if you looking for solar film, the established ones are Vkool, huper optik and 3M
Vkool and huper optik are from the same parent company but apparently their products are different. vkool's film are metalic base, and they have to cut out a piece from your frontwindscreen film to enable your IU to work properly.
Huper optik on the other hand uses ceramic base,no problem with your IU.
From the best of my knowledge 3M is neither ceramic or metal base. so i have no idea what it is.
but my recommendation is not to go malaysia for the films. they are usually films dyed sold cheaply without much UV/heat resistant.
you get what your money worth, a cheap one no help in uv/heat resistant and may not pass LTA specs. -
wa, din know metallic base can stop IU intercepted by erp. THen i fully coat my windscreen can siam erp liao? hahhaa...

How much is it to install vcool/huperoptic if u say it is expensive? Less or more than $500?
(All the money use to pay down, so very tight now. But I tried rikecool and it really works, so think it is necessary to install such kind of things... -

i yet to heard of rikecool but den again, there are so many many diff kind of films with their own claims of UV/heat resistance.

Anyway, if Rikecool isn't free (or can't get it below S$400), go for V-cool. Usually it is about S$800-S$1000 for normal sedan. Comes with waranties and stuff.
Personnally, I am not very sure about V-cool, but I think Rikecool's workmanship is seriously below what they are charging. Rarely I encounter people who only visit them once. 3 times is the average. They are the quantity over quality kind. Can finish doing in 1-2 hours, when everyone else is doing 4 or more. Worse is they don't provide you with a decent waiting area. Not recommended unless your SE is doing it for you. -
using Rikecool, pleased wif it and they dun even haf to cut out a small part for the IU. Warranty is 10 years

in another car forum, the members found rikecool's workmanship rather bad and have changed to huper optik/3m...
this is not my opinion but from the other members...
my new ride on the other hand is coming with huper optik.. -
I have tried V-Kool and Huper before.
When your car is parked under the sun for sometime and you start the engine and aircon, the temperature cools down faster when using Huper as compared to V-Kool. -
using rikecool. quite ok, no problems with it. came as freebie with the car.

hey you guys are only mentioning brands how can brand be compared against brand when within the brand there are so many packages? you've tried huper and v kool and say huper is better. what if that's because the vkool was the cheapest vkool (like Vkool 70 all round etc.) and the huper was the most expensive package? anyhow i wanna install vkool too got a quote of $1400++ for my spacewagon sheesh but lifetime warranty hmm.

Spacewagon confirm expensive. So many areas to cover. I am not sure about the other brands, but when I done mine with Rikecool, there is only 1 package. And also, I only comment about workmanship. Because I been to other tint shop (sadly only after my installation, helping friend look for cheap tint.) and feel a little regret. With the speed they are doing the films, I can only say "Luck" plays a important part to a satisfied customer. The third time I went back, I complained about multiple spot in between films. They say dirt, even if redo will still have.

wa, so many opinions here. I somehow got an impression that rikecool is not that up to standard. It also seems to me that huperoptik and vkool is the choice, although they will be more expensive, somewhere below 1k. For rikecook, can get it done for less than $500.
Am I right? My SE was offering me rikecool for less than 1 k, but now seems it is overpriced.
How harh? Which should I choose? -
SE offering? Unless it is free, or else isn't worth it. Take either V-cool (budget allows) or other cheaper brand. Some cheap ones are Lextint (also known as perfect tint), tintsycool (quite popular in Vios club). thanks wbucket, my SE was not offering it for free, but with 20%discount. I thought it's quite a good value but until this forum says rikecook can be installed for something cheaper. Maybe I'll save a little then install vcool, since so many people here think it is good.

ya i heard v-kool is good. anyhow for huper and v-kool got different pakages, like v-kool has V-KOOL Premier, UV Protet 70, Mystique, Mirage, etc. which will all come at different prices, different amount of protection, amount of light transmitted etc.
