My colleague spent 3 K to install a turbo to his nissan last time ... end up the car still lethargic at the low end as the car need to overcoem the turbo lag ... at high end the car did feell more powerful ... but consumption increased to the tune of 6 km/l ... he spent another $600 to remove his turbo six month later -
i dont know about the BOV but i know auto car can. Sat in one modded auto Mistubishi Galant with that tiptronic gearbox(after market i believe) drank petrol like crazy. dun exactly how much though... din ask

If you know how turbos work, autos usually cannot spool up to the required revs and worst still cannot stay there. Gear ratios would need to be shifted around for optimum performance.

No all cars that produce psst sound are turbo. There are many fakes where the sound come from speakers, not the engine.

BOV are only installed on turbo engines. There must be enough pressure from the engine to open the valve or your car will stall. Only cars like evo can be be fitted with bov. Any cars not in the category of evo with psst sound are likely to be fake. -

Yes i agree wif u. I was passing Plaza sing the other day after a midnite show at 3am. Suddenly this Mitsubishi Airtrek turbo , rev his focking car, dunno wtf he trying to do, then i heard "psst psst " sound 2 times. I believe the bov is an aftermarket product. The BOV will not be heard during gear change if the acclerator is not release, which is usually the case as driver do not need to change gear, so no need to release acclerator.

If you want loud psst sound, you can opt for a bov with a whistle place on top of the valve. So the actual sound comes from the whistle rather than the engine.
Or you can install the fake bov - turbo noise simulator, can be installed at car workshops. Cost about $300+. You can check this site http://www.sunamiturbo.com/ for more details on fake bov. Strictly for poseurs only. -
