How often do u do a check up for your car?

  Check up as in doing the boring stuff (but very impt ), like changing engine oil, water, coolant etc etc etc...
  
  Is it recommended to do it on a regular basis, like every 10km for eg? I've checked the manuel, but it just says "periodic"...lol
  
  Can i just bring the car to any workshop and have it done? And normally how much would that cost..

  It's probably overkill on my part, but I usually check coolant and tyre pressure every time I top up the tank, as well as brake and clutch fluid levels.
  
  If you want to keep well within tolerances, change oil every 5000 km, spark plugs, fuel and oil filters every 10,000 km and air filter every 20,000 km, and that ought to do the trick.

  This is the normal check schedule for me too. However, full-syn engine oil only require you to change every 10,000km. Spark plug also got different ones, which can last you up to 20,000km.
  
  Also got check engine oil level together will the other regular weekly checks. 1 pump per week.

  depends.. standard is every 10K.. but for me i change engine oil every 5K.. spark plugs at 10K, the others like brake pads, ATF fluid.. every 20K should be ok...

  Yeah, I was accounting for mineral oil, not synthetic. Good call on checking oil levels - I forgot to include that on the list.

  For changing of engine oil, it will go 1k, 5k 10k after which every 5-10k depending on the type of oil you use. (minerial or synthetic.)
  A safe option will be to service the car every six mths or so. Even thought u have not reach the above mention
  
  As for others, like coolant, topping up of engine oil, brake and clutch fluid and Tyre pressure check as often as possible. If possible every morning before you start the car.
  
  Most jap cars will be using DOT 3 for brake and clutch fluid although the usage of DOT 4 is also allowed.

  Not changing to Full-syn? I just switch to half-syn and my FC improved. To note, half-syn is also 5000km per change.

  I reckon the FC savings are a function of the viscosity, so a 15W40 synth would not necessarily result in more FC than a 15W40 mineral. In any case, I prefer to change the oil every 5000 km to get the gunk out, so mineral works fine for me.

  i read from some site saying that besides changing oil, it is also necessary to clear carbon.. by clearing such carbon, ur car's air flow system will be better thus maintaining a good fuel economy..
  
  clear carbon was defined to me as driving at high speed and at high revolutions.
  
  so, i guess clearing carbon is the same meaning as clearing exhaust? i do not know..
  
  anybody can verify the effectiveness of what i just said?

  Are you talking about cleaning the carbies/injectors, or are you just talking about chucking octane booster into the fuel to clean carbon out of the combustion chambers?
  
  If you're talking about the latter, it's a case of carbon deposits forming on top of the piston. These deposits get red-hot in the chambers, and ignite the fuel-air mixture before the spark plug goes off, causing detonation that not only wastes fuel but causes damage to the pistons, crankshaft bearings and other parts that are exposed to the force of the detonation.

  servicing usually requires big checks ma.. and replacements of parts..

  You're being too vague here.
  
  All things being equal, your exhaust pipe and muffler should corrode and fall apart before enough carbon builds up to become a problem. If there IS that much carbon, you need to adjust your engine to make the air-fuel mixture leaner.
  
  As for the relationship between revs and exhaust, the first thing that comes to mind is not carbon, but backpressure.

  Change engine oil for me on a ir regular basis ... change as and when i feel the engine rough ... change spark plugs once every 2 engine oil change ...
