i'd wait longer for the market to settle down first. besides technical issues on the new technology, theres also the need to consider cost of maintenance and resale value given a conservative market like sg.

Biggest concern is resale market -- technology should be relatively stable by now for hybrids

What about the new incentives that the gov seems to be hinting at.
After all if the oil prices keep going up, it's going to make people real unhappy. -

I don't think they will be willing enough to give up their cars. -

Was waiting eagerly for the Prius 2 last yr when the so called "attractive" incentive review didn't materialize, i went ahead to purchase a normal engine car.
The official website at NEA stated that the current rebate of 20% OMV is deemed to be sufficiently attractive hence there's no need to increase the incentives. WHo's to believe that when Honda only sold 1 car and Borneo withdrew from the market. How attractive was that???
Bottomline, i dun pin high hopes on the coming Green vehicle rebate due for review end of this year. Probably if petrol price continue to skyrocket, some might be convinced enuf to buy a hybrid thou.
The new Honda civic hybrid & Prius facelift will be launched in Japan soon. Something to look fwd to perhaps.

Can't wait to see how the new hybrids will look like. Been thinking of getting another car, might make more sense to get the new hybrids if the price is right. -
Yeah i'm considering getting a civic hybrid too.. from what i know when they were first launched in 2002, journalists had the chance to drive it, and evaluate the vehicle, I managed to retrieve those news articles on it and it seems that the comments were rather positive in terms of its performance.

My main concern is not just how much the car will cost.
