Went inside the new rio (both sedan and hatch)...the sedan looks not bad to me...local 1.6 versions come with sport seats...god, wow!! But the 'self-tuning' side mirrors are sure a turn-off....anyway, the price starts at $47000..the 1.6 version carries a respectable 112 horse...top speed 190++km/h...

kindda confused over which car to get...picanto, cerato, new rio??...then most ppl said korean cars not good...then i'm on budget also. i shall wait for more reviews on tat car.

I bought the hatchback liao, still waiting for it.
Test drove it, like it better than aveo. While testing aveo, I though my driving sucks becausee i felt like vomiting after that. WHen I tried rio, then i know the problem is not with me. :-)
The engine is quiet, and vibration is very little(can't remember if there's any). Features i like is the modern look, and the spaciouness for such a small car, and also the low cost.
But for info, the $47999 is bluff one. Gotta pay $49999 for myself. But because they give first year insurance free and 1st month free upto 2k, so they say it cost $47999. I hate this kind of non transparency.
If you want to buy, buy this week before 8 sept, then you can participate in the cask vault contest. -

local no sun roof. $47999 ism 1.4lit sedan DOHC. The CVVT is for 1.6lit one, more exp.
If you check out the site, there is a damn chio black-red interior. But sg dun have, only beige colour one. Lan lan got to choosr beige one. -
btw, anyone had seen the new rio on the road?
I waitied for my car till pek chek, but was told all the new rios are still being inspected by lta, so should not have any new rio on the road. But my friend seen one, though I doubted what he seen. Anyone can confirm? -

fyi do check carefully all the documentation when u take delivery of the car. when i bought my rio (C&C) there were problems with the administrative n the salesman isnt very responsive (prob get commission liao so boh chap me) and i gotta write an email to complain all the way to the top b4 the salesman bother to get it resolved.

Was at the Road show today, final price for the RIO h/b is - $51999 (inclusive of 1st year insurance and, 1st installment). With this price tag, it is almost the same as a Toyota Vios.
Which would make a better buy? Any comments? -
I was working at the roadshow... Yesterday and today... helping out at the $9,999 cash vault... no one won it... The Rio still a bit cramp for me... heh... and I asked one of the SEs, the sports version isn't really sports... it can't take 17" rims cos if the rear is heavy with 3 ppl, the tires might rub against the arch...

sports version is just dressed up to look sporty...
just look at the performance figures... its nothign to rave about ... even though its boasting over 100 in bhp its century sprint is still much slower than other 1.5 cars like the Honda City and the Vios.
IMHO i'll still go for the new facelifted City coming out soon or the Vios
but def kudos to the guys at KIA for the much improved look
