Thanks. Anyone has any idea what other cars are available in this class (1.3L hatchback) to aid comparison? I can only think of the Getz.Originally posted by perseus76:the down side is that the price is higher, compare to the other cars in its class..

Thanks to all for the useful info on the Smart car thread. I guess I can safely tell my wife to drop the idea.
On the other hand, I understand that Daihatsu has the new Sirion out. I am still a bit doubtful over small Korean cars due to reliability issues, and I guess that a Daihatsu should be fairly reliable, judging from the number of old Charades still running around.
Anyone here tried looking at the new Daihatsu yet?

Have to add in the COE bidding time, time to apply loan, car check and delievery. 3 weeks from the time you sign, I think that is still good time!Originally posted by alberteinstein:weeks is fast? Last time i bought motorcycle days got liao...

I test drove the swift some time ago, and I was also wondering about the external temp guage. It would have been useful in temperate countries where it could get mighty cold and you'd have to pull up your coat before you get out, but its a bit useless in our weather. Just gives an excuse for people to start complaining about how hot it is outside...Originally posted by incredible:i test drove the new suzie swift not too long ago.
For a start one thing tt caught me is..if you buy this car, you are inadvertedly buying a faulty car cos it comes with a faulty meter (temp outside car and fuel consumption meter). That itself will piss quite a number of car buyer off as what is considered new if some aspect is faulty and irreversible? I rather they take away that 2 meters.
Agreed with your acceessment for Sirion.Originally posted by Blockhead:I test drove the swift some time ago, and I was also wondering about the external temp guage. The Sirion comes with 3 headrests for the rear passengers as well, which is similar in design to the Suzie. The Daihatsu also comes with 4 airbags as standard, which I don't think any other car in this class offers (not sure about the Euros tho.). I found the Daihastsu to be competent and worth the price... i.e. You're not gonna get ripped off. But like you said, the Suzie does give better handling, is more competent on the road, and has better seats..... but then again, it is more expensive too...
Siron will have much more mods, because it can use Myvi's body kits and after-market parts.Originally posted by bounce34:i prefer honda jazz..very cool and cute..thus if further modification to teh body , it will look sporty...
On the downside, that could means mod can only be done in Malaysia.Originally posted by wbucket:Siron will have much more mods, because it can use Myvi's body kits and after-market parts.
Now that would depends on how comfortable are you in traveling up north. Do you know that there are getting more and more Kelisa after-market parts in Singapore. Kits, Brake system, Open-pod......etc. Cause there is still a market here from those who don't venture out of Singapore.Originally posted by incredible:On the downside, that could means mod can only be done in Malaysia.
But the upside is..mod should be cheaper.
I wonder if it is worthwhile to opt for euro sport model which cost 2k more.
One can easily get the sirion base model and go into JB to mod their car. I bet all this should cost less than 2k.
