Hi guys, i'm new to the forum and hopefully, i'll be able to get some help here from you guys.
Few days back, i knocked into a lorry along PIE expressway, i'm personally driving a Toyota Picnic. My bumper came off, the bornet was dented, the headlights came off, and the coolent was leaking, so i assume that i'll have to change to aircondition as well. Guys, can you help me to gauge the price to pay for the damages? Will it be ranged around 5k? Thanks alot guys. Please help to reply... -

2. 2 headlights.. maybe $1k-$1.5k
3. bonnet repair + spray touch up $100-$300
4. coolant not sure.. $1-$2k?
+ u still have to pay the lorry.. -

get recon spare parts, knock back all metal parts, 5k should definitely cut it.
get brand new parts, u'll be looking at at least double dat figure. -
what happen if his car is still under borneo warranty... he must go back there for repair rite ... if not waranty void?

Ah, the car is less than a year old. And the car belongs to my aunt. So ultimately, she chooses to buy all the new parts like the bornet, bumper and stuff. So i guess roughly the estimated price is about 5k? And even if i do claim insurance, i'll be at a disadvantage cause personally, i'm a new driver myself as well. Sigh, price to pay still 5k? I ponder...

guys u all forget something.
since is the aunt's car den the insured shld be the aunt.
and since he is new driver cum third party his excess abt 1.5k and if he under 25/26yrs old excess abt 3k if he is un-named driver
further more it will affect his aunt's future insurance polices due to the deduction of NCD especially if it is 50% NCD
IMHO if it is my nephew wan to borrow the vehicle den he better pay for damages himself.
Moral of the story: dun borrow pple's vehicle to drive. -
yeap. agree wif huoye. since the car is borrowed from the aunt, the aunt is the one who will "suffer" if insurance claim is made. sorry dude IMHO its a LL situation...jus cough up the money n be responsible for ur actions...n its definitely more than S$5k cos the aunt wans to go back to borneo n get original parts...car less than a yr old n under warranty....wad u expect?

If u have some moral values left in u, u should offer to pay the damages yourself and not implicate your aunt's insurance... Unless your aunt offers to let u claim her insurance, u can always collaborate and claim using her name as the driver involved since her excess will be lower... 5K should be quite a gd rough estimate of the total costs

Thanks alot people for your help. Appreciate that lots. And yeah, i don't intend to claim the insurance because that's my fault. So i should bear the consequences myself instead. 5k, money can be earnt back. At least, a lesson for me to learn. CONCENTRATE when you're driving. Once again, thanks guys.
