... I heard that piece of news when I took my license nearly 2 years ago... I also heard that before I went into NS... I'm 23 this year... you do the math...

Taking license can never be 21 one lah.
As far as i know.. it is in contravention with the 1949 UN Treaty since the treaty (which singapore is a participant) allows people 18 years of age to qualify for a international driving permit.
So if an 18 year old obtained a IDP and comes to singapore suddenly becomes ineligible to drive, it is very ironic since by treaty he is already a qualified driver. -

actuallly they came out with the rumour because i believe in 1997-1998 there was a spate of car accidents by under 21s.
then newspaper got write ppl would like to see age increase to 21. from then one.. the rumour started.
but if i am not wrong TP got statement before they rather educate people to drive properly than to increase age. -
What is the minimum time required to obtain a license from the taking of the theory tests to the actual driving exam? And is it mandatory to chalk up 60 hours in the driving circuit? Because I already possess a Malaysian driving license and I intend to obtain a Singaporean one by end 2005 after my A lvs. Hence, is it possible to take the theory test and finish the practical exam all within 1 mth? And will driving schools allow me to cut short lesson time?

if you gotten your M'sia license before you get any immigration status in singapore, you are eligible to convert your license mah.. no need to re-test. -

confirm 18. i juz turned 18 on 16th march 2005. got license on 4th July 2005.

18..The 21 year old is some stupid rumour since damn long ago liao..
