how can u get a car w/o driving licence. i guess if u order it and it comes around the time ur licence comes that would be good

he said AFTER he pass his TP already haha

Take into consideration of downpayment issues..

Insurance (the killer one)

Maintainence esp if u getting a 2nd hand one.

Instead of exploring the needs, I think the question to ask is if he can afford it. Like some parent got money willing to spare, why not? Bottomline is to get a car, but it shouldn't limit your social activites of having fun. Meaning not taking up several sidelines, living on breads everyday, blah, blah, blah......

Should u buy a car after your driving test? No u should not. By that time, COE will rise to an astronomical price becos of the rapidly recovering economy. Job creation rate is at an all time high. The singapore economy is set to grow at an unprecedented rate of recovery and income levels will be surging across all levels. The impact on car prices will be severe. If u want to buy car, now is the time.

Yes, I think it would be wise to get the car after you pass you driving test. Imagine, if you have not pass your driving test, you will not have a licence to drive. So getting your car before you pass, you will be committing an offence by driving without a valid driving licence.

But of course, you can still get the car before you pass your driving test. Having a car does not mean you automatically will be the driver. You could get the car, then I can drive for you. Please, I would prefer a BMW X5, the larger X series is not so nice, and of course, you should also be paying for the petrol otherwise how can I drive.

if you can afford it or your parents can afford to buy you one, then if you like to have one, then why not?

Young man/men, if you get used to driving around at an early age because your parents can afford to buy you a car, better ensure that when you grow old, you can maintain this luxury.

Because when you grow old, and if you don't have a booming business of your own, you're like the so many cash-trapped Singaporeans in an endless vicious cycle of toiling just for paying up all sorts of material and luxury commitments.

Get used to Public transport first, then drive when a bit older and financially stable. Enjoy now, suffer later. Or, suffer now, enjoy later. Choice is yours.

Hey, take ur time man, drive ur dad's car for a bit of experience before burning on a new car la. With insurance being so killer for 18yo (if they even want to give u) its best to jus hang in dere till later.
