red lane at s'pore custom this morning

came back from jb just now, saw a lot of cars got pulled into the red custom lane after clearing passports. saw officer took passports from drivers and called them in. he seems to hold a piece of paper with car regt nos.
very unusual to see so many cars there and a long queue at the booth inside.
anyone got any clue what offence they committed? -
Drugs?Pills?hoon kee?Sex toys?
