which solar film to choose?

TOday i went to turf city to do a research. These are my findings:
(pardon me for very rough figures cos i forgotten alot of data. din copy down unfortunately.)
Front/rear
Act-cool
mid-series -- $328. 80+/73.
hi-series --$488. 90+/80+
3M
$800 -- 95/98
$700 -- 95/80+
$599 -- 95/50+
AS-cool
$688 -- 95/90
$588 -- 80/80
What I want to ask is: do we need 90 over percent to shield the infrared? I tried the samples and it is amazing that it really cut off the heat. 80 over percent is still got some heat. I wonder bros here, would you rather pay so much more to get the highest heat rejection or to endure the slightly lower heat rejection but at a much lower price? This actcool seem ver yattractive to me. But the rear at 73%, i dunno how good it is(althoguh i also tried it, but hand and real experiecne is different.) So I really like to hear some comments from bros here who had installed some of the film here. Thanks. -
It depends how long you are likely to keep the car. Once you divide it out over the yrs you are using, you might think it is worth while to get a better one.
For me, i intend to use my car for 10yrs, so v-cool is $100/- pa while and average one is abt $80/- pa. I would glady pay the extra $20/- a year for 95% IR rejection vs 85%

i DIY my own wif normal firms. 10sgd a roll for up to 4 windows. its pretty easy to do and e results are almost e same esp when u use e darker ones. i am able to reject lots of heat during day driving. if u dnt mind then perhaps u could save lots by tryin out urself.

I also thought the films are very cheap materials. But can you tell me, how do you cut out the shape exactly? The 3M one is good. Ex, but tested and proven.

autually e proper way is to trace e shape from e outside of e window. but thats difficult for me thus i cut out e estimated size then after sticking it to e window i cut e excess from there.. its easier but will waste a little more films. thumb of e rule is to use lots of soapy water. so u will be able to move it around easily .. hope tis helps. let me kne if u need more advice.Originally posted by alberteinstein:I also thought the films are very cheap materials. thanks for the tips. But I think not possible. The front and rear glass so big piece, I dun think I can force out all the bubbles and dust. haha no worries.. as long as u got soapy water u can force and flush out any bubbles no matter where they are.. its very simple.. thats y the bottom line is to haf lots of soap water..Originally posted by alberteinstein:thanks for the tips.
