EVO 9... GSR or GT?!

which do u all prefer? The 6 gear GSR or the 5 gear GT?? GT is lighter den GSR.. and I personally prefer 5 gear cars, so I vote for the GT!

ah yes, the good 'ol Evo 4-6 series.... i really wonder why i don't seem to see almost any of them on the roads these days. Besides, they are proven rally-winning machines. Back in the days where SMSA used to host those carpark rallies, those Evo 6s would outnumber the WRXs.... where have they gone???

is it possible that u buy the GT and then change the 5 spd to the GSR 6 spd?Is this allowed?

If have a choice, I'll get Tommi Makkinen's Evo 6.5 and change the gearbox to Sequiencial Transmission! No need step clutch but can still manually switch gears! I guess u all prefer the Evos den the GTRs, eh?

i think they are quite good though. been in a 360CS before and the changes were not as jerky as wad clarkson said in the 360M vid. -
btw..in wad way does a WRC Imprezza clutch differs from a WRX Sti clutch?

They have NO synchro meshes.. and you still need to use the clutch to engage the first gear.
It's NOT like the DSG, it's not F1, it's not SMG, it's not Selespeed.
And to be honest, once you get used to manual shifts, it isn't a bother anymore. -

Stock?? I seriously doubt the Evo 6 was.
The front intercooler looks larger than normal, and it has a "bullet type" exhaust (similar to Hi Power or N1). So who knows what else has been changed? Decat? In a UK test, a decatted Evo MR FQ320 beat an FQ400 just with a simple decat.
And I think VBH would have gotten significantly faster times if she didn't go sideways so much in the E9. If you check the latest BM review of the Evo IX, even the more experienced drivers don't push the Evos into controlled oversteers anymore. -
