You don't need to be skilful, you just have to get adapted to the weight distribution.
The tendency is not more more than in a FWD car these days and is noticeable only at high speed.
A RWD car won't go into snap oversteer unless you drive it recklessly or there's a sudden loss of traction. -
lots of practice and must have a good "feel" of the car in motion. that's what most pros would say or something similar. coordination of your hands, foot and mind as well.

The trick to good drifting is the ability to coax the car into controllable oversteer. The suspension can be tuned to assist this, like in the not-too-distant days of F1 when drivers had different set-ups for qualifying and the race, and in rallying where it's the fastest way to shed speed on loose surfaces.
But please, don't practise it on public roads! -
where can I learn drifting, any courses? (Pls, dun give me arcade centres).

In day to day driving, there are not many differences between a FF or FR or MR. The differences come in when you pushed the car to the limit or you drive the car hard. When over the limit, they behave differently too.
Personally I find FR config has a better drive than FF config. Maybe I already used to it, I have more confidence pushing a FR throught a corner.

Drift king keiichi says practice practice practice will make perfect. In an episode of BMI, he took passenger seat in tommi makinen's wrc subaru in snow, he went like OMFG. You should see how he did the handbrake 180, I was like OMFG too.

i'm not very skillful, i do partake in "spirited driving" and i've yet to experience oversteer or have my car skid while driving in singapore.
for beemers, i don't think there's much to worry about under local driving conditions as the DSC/TSC/CBC are more than adequate in correcting/preventing skids, oversteer, etc. IMO, you'll have to be really unlucky, aggressive or stupid to provoke oversteer with these systems switched on.
i'm sure the other marques with FR cars have equivalent systems as well; we're in the 21st century afterall...
oh, proper tires help too. -

hehehehe................. why cant you just believe me that even I switch off traction control, I wont skid and oversteer easily?? anyways im not saying FR no good or hard to handle. im saying FR, u fool around in one, is less forgiving than if u fool around in a 4WD car.

If u watched Initial D (Anime) closely, u notice that Pro Racer Kyochi Sudoh only uses drift when he bo bian (speed too fast liao). He uses Grip driving with his Evo 3 and dat method loses lesser speed in the corner as compared to drifting! Takashi Nakazato uses Grip too with his GTR (he most prob lost to Takumi cuz he how lian, waited for the AE86 to catch up). Takumi realizes that fact upon joining Project D and uses Grip Driving more often in his subsequent races (Initial D :Stage 4) and that made his car go faster!
