heh heh heh.. this is hilarious!
computer games have cheat codes.. seems like the Lexus IS also has a "cheat code" for its computer system
to disable the traction control system, you do this:
"start the car with the parking brake on Â….then foot brake twiceÂ….(keep the foot brake down)Â….then parking brake twice (keep it down )and repeat till skid light is on the dashÂ…..it will reset when you restart the car"
thus enabling you to do donuts and other dangerous thing with your expensive car

well i thought cars nowadays have switches to turn off their traction control systems... all they have to do is is press a button somewhere and voila.... the 350Z with its VDC, Porsche with its PSM.... but with Lexus's way to turn their traction control system off, that i must say its a little troublesome and weird.

in some cars the TC never goes off fully.
SEI are u sure the merc's ESP still intervenes when u switch it off? I've switched it off b4 and it doesn't correct slides on mine.
It went from neutral steer to oversteer monster. -
never had that problem with my merc or my current bmw, if the DSC is off, it is off... never did try it with my GS... hmmm.

i find it amusing, that manufacturers who design such TCSs to have switches to so-called turn off the system, only to be re-activated automatic when a slide is detected. i guess the only way to overcome this is remap or re-code the TCS unit. Then again, safety always comes first, maybe it's their way of preventing cars from having misadventures with curbs, walls, trees etc

well, unless there was a ghost pushing on my brake pedals while i was powersliding then i guess not haha. but yeah.. when i was sliding around i could literally see the brake pedal goin in and out while my foot was full down on the acceleratorOriginally posted by HENG@:in some cars the TC never goes off fully.

hmm...seems like the biggies at MB aren't keen at all on letting their drivers doing much driving? Hehe...Clarkson was having the same problem even on the CLS55 remember?

yeah haha, but dont get me wrong the difference with tc on and off are massive but if the car thinks it might get tipped over or potentially crash into something it tries to save itself with the esp. it has saved my life once but it can be annoying not being able to turn it off when you are trying to do doughnuts or something like that

mine's the last gen face-life E class. it swapped ends on me once when i floored it with TC off. its also supercharged so maybe that contributed to it some. I reckon it also depends on the chassis generation. Like i said i never noticed the ESP kicking in when i switch it off. thats why i would rather it stays on. -
