Never heard it before, turbo works from the exhaust and it happens when the turbo spools at a certain RPM and then you get your boost. The only way you can of your turbo is when you off your engine.Originally posted by storm_freaky13:sorry about turbo...
i heard from some friend of mine that says that WRX has a turbo switch/button?
can a turbocharger be turned off?

i think he's referring to the DCCD switch? dats some sort of traction aid available to the rex. but the question is, got turbo, off 4 it wad?Originally posted by storm_freaky13:sorry about turbo...

waste of time and money.![]()
its nt experience...its a fact....i doubt it can hit close to 140BHP even if turboed...most prob the enginr is gonna shake itself to piecesOriginally posted by Praetorian111:Speaking from experience??![]()

honestly, wouldn't it be cheaper to get a WRX? u would need to beef up the engine and install more components if u want to install a turbo. In the end it would be cheaper to get a stock WRX. and it comes with a warrenty somemore? It wouldn't make sense to TC a TS, and if u cannot afford a WRX i dun see how u can afford to buy a TS and then TC it.Originally posted by KLZW:anyone does that here? how's the performance like?
nope. juz an educated guess based upon wad i know of the potential in a TS.Originally posted by Praetorian111:Speaking from experience??![]()

No lar just clarifying, cos my friend was like so dead sure that there was a switch to turn on and off the turbo. in my head i went... i tot turbo uses the exhaust to turn the turbines.... then if the turbo is off... wun the blades like jam up the exhaust causing backpressure?Originally posted by tailslide:i think he's referring to the DCCD switch? dats some sort of traction aid available to the rex. but the question is, got turbo, off 4 it wad?![]()
agreed. The TS engine cannot make it, no offence to any TS bros here.Originally posted by AE86tofu:its nt experience...its a fact....i doubt it can hit close to 140BHP even if turboed...most prob the enginr is gonna shake itself to pieces
You know the thread starter ? What make you think that he can't afford a WRX ? He is asking the performance, not financial.Originally posted by HENG@:honestly, wouldn't it be cheaper to get a WRX? u would need to beef up the engine and install more components if u want to install a turbo. U can always swap out some parts and badges to make it look like a TS after that.
either financial or performance, both also dun make sense dudeOriginally posted by JLM6509:You know the thread starter ? What make you think that he can't afford a WRX ? He is asking the performance, not financial.
dun 4get the tranny and diffs...they are both diff also....basically alot of diff la that is...body stiffness etcOriginally posted by LittleTiger:Beside the TC engine, WRX suspension used is also different from a saloon 1.6 TS.
TC an 1.6 TS is not worth the $$$.
Appreciate your answer on both technical & financial feasibility, but don't jump to conclusion that he can't afford to buy one.Originally posted by tailslide:either financial or performance, both also dun make sense dude![]()
did i say him specifically? I suppose i could replace "u" with "one" but that doesn't change the meaning of my post. tailslide could get it, seems u can't.Originally posted by JLM6509:You know the thread starter ? nobody jumping to conclusions except u laOriginally posted by JLM6509:Appreciate your answer on both technical & financial feasibility, but don't jump to conclusion that he can't afford to buy one.
Example, i am at Jurong & asking you how to walk to Raffles Hotel, beside your answer is too far to walk... blah blah...but also come with... you can afford to go Raffles Hotel meh.... got it.
u asked in terms of both technical and financial. i answered dat in terms of these, both dun make sense. since when u read me saying he can't afford one?Originally posted by JLM6509:Appreciate your answer on both technical & financial feasibility, but don't jump to conclusion that he can't afford to buy one.
