Try to interpret this:
Location: Melbourne City
Place: Any Cross-juction with Tram Tracks
Traffic Sign: "Turn Right From Left"
Traffic System: Left-lane traffic (Same as Singapore)
Verdict: Took me almost half a day "Monkey Seeing and Monkey Doing" to understand what it means. I was surprised as this was new traffic means.
Meaning: To turn right at a cross-juction with tram tracks, it is risky due to tram traffic. Trams also follow the junction traffic lights.
So if one needs to turn right at the cross-junction, one has to drive the car up to the left side of the traffic and stand-by to turn right when the signal turns red. All this while on the left side of the car, you will see cars stopped and ready to move on at the road you are tuning into, if you get what I mean.
Anyway, just sharing. For those going to Melbourne for free and easy renting their rides, this will be useful traffic info for you.
Another thing, when trams stop at the tram stops, trams also become traffic lights to allow the passengers to walk from the center of the road to the pavements on the sides, so watch out the red or stop sign which is shown at the back of the tram.
Well, I managed to find a picture from the below webpage. Happy reading.
