Opel Tigra opinion

Went to test drive the Opel Tigra 1.4 convertible and fell in love with it. Although the 0-100 km acceleration is crap: 13.4 seconds, it still felt really zippy.
Anyone has opinions on Opels though? Reliability? -

opel's QC shouldn't be too bad. thing is, the tigra is really a posers car. i mean, engine's got no soul, and the only thing the car can really do is well, look pretty.

It's a poseur's car? It felt really zippy but yeah on paper the acceleration sucks. if u want a cheap convertable suv/car go for the 2nd hand 93 Vitara/softtop

for me, that car simply can't perform. anything that can't perform, but looks pretty enuff to be a performance car is 2 me, a poseur's car.

Okay I get that you like performance, so do I. But sometimes it's not about poseurism (such a word?) but more for fun. As I mentioned it was fun to drive, and given the geometry and restriction on Singapore roads, doubt I can do much unless it's expressway all the time. And even then whenever you 'perform' on a public road, you're risking other people's lives too. Besides you don't need a performance car to risk other people's lives either. I'd love the Lexus SC430, but no money to get it. Convertibles are meant to be fun cars too you know, just because it's got two doors doesn't mean it needs blazing power. The Tuscani isn't exactly a WRX/Evolution category, but it looks sporty too doesn't it? -
The Tigra should be much more reliable than the 206CC or the Megane CC.

again, wad classifies as "fun" differs from one person 2 another. u think the tigra is fun. i personally think driving an ice cream truck blaring cute jingles and tooting its horn is better. so again, its really about wad u see in the ride u like. the choice of a car is also a personification of the driver too.
lastly, "endangering lives" is besides the point here. just coz u drive a performance car doesn't necessarily imply that u are endangering more lives than u would be driving like an @rse in a non performance car.
