if u wan a nice convertable...go for Miata MX5....Originally posted by PeRsEuS:Went to test drive the Opel Tigra 1.4 convertible and fell in love with it. Although the 0-100 km acceleration is crap: 13.4 seconds, it still felt really zippy.
Anyone has opinions on Opels though? Reliability?

It's a poseur's car? It felt really zippy but yeah on paper the acceleration sucks. I'm more interested in the fact it's a hardtop convertible.Originally posted by tailslide:opel's QC shouldn't be too bad. thing is, the tigra is really a posers car. i mean, engine's got no soul, and the only thing the car can really do is well, look pretty.![]()
ooo a cute little car, and it stands out. too many people have a MX5. the Tigra is something special.Originally posted by PeRsEuS:Went to test drive the Opel Tigra 1.4 convertible and fell in love with it. Although the 0-100 km acceleration is crap: 13.4 seconds, it still felt really zippy.

I've never heard of that car..is it common in Singapore?Originally posted by philia:You could try Daihatsu Copen. I designers must have been cobblers before they came up with the car![]()

i think its purely relative to the individual. some ppl might find 2.4 km hard to pass, some find it a breeze.Originally posted by PeRsEuS:It's a poseur's car? It felt really zippy but yeah on paper the acceleration sucks. I'm more interested in the fact it's a hardtop convertible.
its definitely the nicer looking one. and thats about all i'd like 2 say about it.Originally posted by HENG@:its a cute little car la. MX5 too common, 206CC to passe.
Okay I get that you like performance, so do I. But sometimes it's not about poseurism (such a word?) but more for fun. As I mentioned it was fun to drive, and given the geometry and restriction on Singapore roads, doubt I can do much unless it's expressway all the time. And even then whenever you 'perform' on a public road, you're risking other people's lives too. Besides you don't need a performance car to risk other people's lives either. Any car can be turned into a weapon of ballistics.Originally posted by tailslide:i think its purely relative to the individual. some ppl might find 2.4 km hard to pass, some find it a breeze.
for me, that car simply can't perform. anything that can't perform, but looks pretty enuff to be a performance car is 2 me, a poseur's car.![]()
nah, i believe in aesthetics too. but wads the point in looking good when u have no substance? its like a beautiful babe who's got no brains. i might as well get a flower vase 2 display at home.Originally posted by PeRsEuS:Okay I get that you like performance, so do I. I'd love the Lexus SC430, but no money to get it. Convertibles are meant to be fun cars too you know, just because it's got two doors doesn't mean it needs blazing power. The Tuscani isn't exactly a WRX/Evolution category, but it looks sporty too doesn't it?
