  Saw a green color gallardo at raffles 2 times. Nice car but he had a bit difficult while reversing to park the car as its too long and wide for that parking lot. Nice gal beside him also...

  the next generation of gearbox will be the DSG, currently use by golf GTI and Buggatti Veyron.
  
  those button could be the different drive mode which control the ECU of the car. e.g drive, sports or racing mode of the ferrari 430, or M mode of the M5 and S Mode of the RS4.

  no need gears - the driver and passenger remove a cut-out from under their feet and paddle, which makes the car move.

  the first DSG in Singapore is the 3.2 TT. someone i know who drives a F car also say that DSG is far more superior than the F1 style gear shift.

  Never tried SMG, but i've test driven a few Alfa's selespeed (156, 147, GT). Use to think the Selespeed was great till I tried DSG! The gear shift so fast (0.2sec!! faster then most ppl can manage with their manual boxes) In auto mode, drives as smooth as most autoboxes. I was totally impressed.
  
  At 1st I did not think too much of the Golf and was looking at the manual 6-speed Renault RS. But after a short "Golfing" session along Jerovis rd.. RS is history..

  because while it is convenient for driving esp in urban conditions, auto boxes can be very irritating when u want to drive at a more frantic pace. Auto boxes are fully dependent on the car's computer to tell it when to change, while paddle shifts lets u decide when to shift, without the hassle of needing to operate the clutch.

  yea... however technological advanced the car computer is, it doesn't have man's eyes to foresee what lies ahead on the road...
