you can turbocharge any car... its just that the law doesnt allow so always. need blueprints and this and that to approve... u might as well import the turbo vios from thailand straight haha

Why would want to TC a vios in Sg when you can spent all that money and time just buying a car which is stock TC-ed.

To turbo-charge it isn't that cheap/easy....It's a loop....not just fitting on a turbo
After fixing on a turbo u'll need a intercooler, bigger injectors, ECU and fuel pump....later realised exhaust not pushing out the power from the engine...exhaust system....
Soon the handling won't be up to par, hence coilovers + strut bars etc.....
After that, u'll need to forged low comp pistons to sustain the level of boost...
That's before factoring in the loss of a reliable engine though output power is enhanced and not to forget.... the fear of White Ants....
Anyway, a vios isn't that under-powered anyway. If u're looking at performance, I think other cars would fit the bill better -

Yes. From what I've learnt, it seems that quite a number of Vios in Thailand are TC.

sigh.. bro why bother? Its actually cheaper to go buy a TC car.
Not worth the risk (insurance cover in case something go wrong) worry about ROV/TP roadblocks and the extra workshop time.
toymachine is right, there will be almost "no end" to this kinda mods. Once you spend your efforts (and re$ource$) on the engine.. then u find the suspension and chassis cannot take the power, car cannot handle properly (understeer like crazy), cannot launch properly (wheelspin), keep smelling your bruning clutch, wheel bearing wear out too fast, drive shaft CV join gone... lagi worse, tiny brakes cannot stop the car!!

all the comments above are true, and logical..
if simply just want power, just get the ready turbocharged car...
but if there's interest of moding and addiding up to your car, its also an enjoyable thing to do, but prepare for more and more things to be modified at bigger cost then getting ready TC. Its kinda interesting thing but with stupid garmen restrict here and there not feasible to mod liao.. -

I used to owna a TC my civic....
Although it was fast......and really fun to mod....
The maintainence isn't.....gasket leak, wheel bearings and in the end a blown engine cos i think most of us wouldn't be satisfied by 0.5 bar of boost....
My mechs was tellin me that sice the engine was designed by engineers to be NA , TC isn't goin to be a reliable soulution to enhance power....
engine swapping is better......but illegal though -
I saw a program last time on Turbo-charging cars.. I think the fuel-air mixture must be correct or else you will not get the power you want...
then you will have to tune it to get the best performance (HorsePower), quite troublesome...
I guess it'll be easier to get a performance car for that money and time..

TC car fine I last heard was around 2.5k. But that's all + a warning. IF you change engine capacity, you might stand to go for free stay in prisons.
Wanna TC? Just get those air-charger you see selling on car mags loh. Some of them do work. Else just do a de-cat (read: illegal) or add piggyback (legal) if you are so desperate. Changing air-filters help too. -

Thats why i was suggesting to go for already TC cars....
Much easier to gain HP effectively yet legally......
Like some of the bros were saying, the WRX is ard 80K plus...TC + 4WD....

The WRX is fast, but has a plain interior. Right now it's cheap, but ask those who bought before 2004, people like me, and they will be cursing and swearing at the Subaru brand. 130k dropped to 85k. Even other brands control their prices at around 10k difference.
Very dull interior, hard to clean seats and high fuel consumption don't really make this a good buy after all...If you really want speed, go for STI. WRX is so common on the road nowadays for wannabe speedsters...

btw no offence hor, interior of vios not much better.. keke so 85K for a TC and 4WD.. still good buy.

Though the interior built quality isn't really up to scratch and creaking sounds can be heard especially on the central dashboard panel.
However, the boxer note is really puts a smile on ur face and AWD is really tops in the handling dept.
About the FC, I was gettin like 5-6 km/L. Had to go to the pump like 3 times a week as i was a bit heavy footed. -
