Has been a while since you drive a manual car? You do know that dropping gear is necessary to bring in the power. If my stock Kelisa can cut in and out, overtake like no-body business, til I get fine for speeding, I don't see why a Vios can't.Originally posted by Arsonist:u can call me a car idiot or whatever, but ever since driving that car on highway, i find that it has got not much strength to accelerate, as most of the time upon 4th or 5th gear i need to floor my accelerator in order to increase the speed to 80km/h and above....issit because i have not fully run in the car yet? btw my car is manual
this is quite interesting stuff. informative too, though i don't know if everything said is justified haha. but i think he really knows his stuff.Originally posted by wbucket:Has been a while since you drive a manual car? Anyway, flooring isn't actually going to solve anything as senseless flooring only result in fuel wastage. You will need to increase pressure in parts, feeling your engine's responses and you response accordingly.
An interesting read.

Me and my brother spent sometime reading through and found most of them logical. I wouldn't comment on the structure of sentences used though. But these stuff is seriously deep, I wouldn't have understand without my bro explaining to me, as he is more experience in auto-mobiles.Originally posted by Theatre Of Dreams:this is quite interesting stuff. informative too, though i don't know if everything said is justified haha. but i think he really knows his stuff.
What most will do is to be in stationary postion. clutch in and start to shift the gear about. This will help to losen the tightness.Originally posted by Arsonist:Hi..i gotten my vios 2 days ago..but i find that the shifting of gear is pretty stiff...as sometimes i have problem shifting from 2nd or 3rd gear back to 1st..really need to use abit more strength to push forward...would like to get your kind opinions on whether is this normal for a brand new car..thanx alot!
