I'll narrow it down having driven the jap 2.4 version before; everything is great, reliability, space, comfort, FC, pricing.
Weaknesses - It just dosent have the "driving" factor. -

Sorry to say...so far 7 out of 10 ppl i come across who drive Camry and Cefiro are ass-holes.
They drive their car like they own the road, bcoz the car is big in size. Some say its for those who want the size but cant price afford Merz or BMW. -
Not too bad a car, power okie for the 2.4 version. Only setback is the suspension, its too soft, only good for straight drive.

juz think it'll be a nice car to take u from point A to B with a dash of luxury and comfort. nothing appealing in terms of performance.

Australia's favourite low maintenance high reliabitlity sedan, as voted by most car insurance companies there.

my family's the 2.0 one, and i will say that it scores high for comfort but low for spirited driving.
performance is decent for its size i.e. at least i feel confident enough to head for lane 1 upon entering highway. even at 120 it's still stable and quiet. but as with most auto cars, there is lag time in the power delivery when you floor it. but to be fair, despite the transmission being the conventional type instead of cvt, it is still quite smooth.
the soft suspensions are paramount to the car's comfort, but it is also what causes the bodyroll which i hate most of the car, as what coolblue6699 probably pointed out. must really slow down when turning, if not those seated behind gonna be sliding away. i guess this is quite standard for such cars which place niche on comfort, and esp Camry has such a high centre of mass.
reliability wise, it's a 3-yr-old car which is still going well. no mechanical problem at all with the engine etc so far, as smooth as before. however there were faults with the side mirror and power window, which is quite disappointing for a car of this price.
on the overall it's a car meant to be taken easy and it will serve well. if you're for spirited driving then it's not for you. -

As for spirited driving, i wonder if the 3L V6 Camry model available in the USA would be any better. -

A conservative car that lacks any discerning character. This is the sentiment shared the world over (Australia, US, Singapore).......
If you need something big and boxy to drive around in in relative comfort at a reasonable price and dont worry too much about style, elegance or looks this is the car for you. -
