How good is the new SUZUKI Swift?

  Hi, I'm thinking of the SUZUKI Swift for my wife.
  
  Can any experts in cars, be kind enough to comment on the quality and performance of this car? I'd very much appreciate it.

  swift is fine..quite pecky engine the interior looks gd but rear legroom is a concern. need an SE can pm me..

  I just booked one, so obviously I like it.
  
  At the end of the day, a lot depends on what your priorities are and what you intend to you the car for.
  
  Personally, I was looking for a small hatchback for mostly City driving. My priorities were:-
  
  1. Good ride/handling balance
  2. Reasonable performance
  3. Good build quality
  4. Economical to run.
  
  I chose the Swift over the Getz as it just felt nicer to drive (although the Getz was cheaper and it's pick up was slightly better in Auto form). Also the Swift interior looked and felt more classy than the Getz, which was too plasticky for my liking.

  You mean your wife drive dangerously? Cause overall, the sport version will have more safety features in built, better handling, brakes and stuff. The car would normally go fast unless the driver wants it to.
  
  But anyway, the normal swift is already a decent car. Getting for wife mean most likely second car, so don't really need that much space right? I also like how the engine sounded outside and inside the car, decent sound-proofing. 1 thing that isn't up to mark is the FC is just normal, about 13-14kpl for manual.

  I agree with most of the comments except the one on performance. Personally, i find the performance adequate in a Singapore context.

  Frankly, I haven't even test driven it. But I know from it's outlook and specs, it should drive just fine.
  
  Business not very good past year, so have to settle for this Swift instead of the Volvo S80 for her lah... hehehee... pai seh man...

  nah beh, got car some more complain small ...haiz!

  I've driven the S80 before, and it's good for highway but quite ponderous to drive around town. parking can be a chore too coz it's quite long.
  
  Give me a Swift for driving round Singapore any day.
