Thinking of buying a Verna, any friend has any objections?

  go for kia rio better. same platform but much cheaper. and its looks more handsome. u wont wanna noe the numbers of cars going into the service centre each day.

  proof? i guess u haf to sit in both. i'm less then impressed wif verna's interior. no power mirrors..guess wats the hyundai SE's reply? "eh bro, u dun adjust ur mirrors everyday rite?" kinda of rubbish. wat if my family members drive? but if ur heart is set on the verna then go for it lor. u asked for comments & i gave mine but u seems very defensive abt it. no offence anyway.

  verna abit underpowered, u may feel e same way once u go up or down a slope.. rio jus slightly better

  kp SE ah. my dad thinking of buying a car. by the time me and my bro pass driving license, there'll be 3 drivers using one car! dun adjust mirrors everyday.. wth.

  Personally, I don't like the looks of the Verna. I would just buy the Kia Rio and save some $$$.

  Bro So_Nice, I am afraid you didn't provide enough evidence to convince me that Rio is a better choice. I won't share the car with others so I don't mind there is no powering mirror. besides, I don't like Rio's look. actually, Cerato's design is much more up to my taste.

  For verna 1.4,it a 16V DOHC engine.No power mirror.No ABS.No air-bag.But power wise,it good enough.OMV around 10700.

  hahaha my family car 3 person use also but we never adjust mirror one... all seem to be quite comfortable with just one adjustment... even the seat too..

  been driving hyundai's for a long time and i must say that the verna is not very nice in design nor its interior.
  
  the getz / sonata / coupe / azera were all designed in the States, so 'to a certain extend' they look 'better'.
  
  why not get the getz 1.6? looks / feel / future modifications are all aplenty.

  Purposely went buy my 1st Car mag "Motoring" to see Verna v City v Vios v Rio.
  Although I dun think I can actually afford any right now.
  hmm maybe a OPC or just hoping.
  But got to consider the price ? Dun know if the prices are still valid although its the Jan issue

  Rio $46k
  Vios $54k
  City $60k
  
  If such price maybe Rio value for money ? If dun see price
  not Vios shd be better ?

  imho, i don't think rio looks better interior anyway... that time i ask at suntec, also the same as verna.. cheap looking interior, no power mirror, window manual winddown.

  If I don't remember wrongly, the Verna, Matrix, Cerato are all using the same engine platform as the Elantra.

  Korean cars these days can be as good as Jap cars. I had a Hyundai Coupe 1.6 for 2.5 years. Apart from being chronically underpowered, I had absolutely no problems with it at all.

  Of course anyone is free to choose the make of his/her car. But then we are talking about why majority still end up driving Jap cars.
  
  May be the sales of Korean cars may overtake Jap cars one day in the near future but definitely not now. But aren't we talking about now, at present?
