Views abt toyota starlet

hi all,
had a bike accident last week,bike all smashed up.
decided not to ride bike any more.
i have a car but normally let my wife drive.
quite blur whether wanna buy another car,maybe opc or coe car.
found a toyota starlet ,reg in 1985 plate num SBC 1XXX.
just renew coe for 5 yrs on nov 05.coe quantum is ard8k.
carshop wan 2 sell me ard 10k.say help me spray whole car.
but interior inside quite lok ko.powerwise good somemore got power steering.
ani bros can share yur views and reply.

Starlet is good, FC wise is great and if you do it up it will look great too.

currently waiting for my injuries to heal then take car go test drive 1 day.

starlet, cute! very small and compact.. and ya heard that it runs well on economy too

v good... ride comfort was pretty ok, no frills.. no prob for 15 yrs (except for the usual maintainence)!!! -

yes...agreed...Starlet is good. still can see on the road....of coz not as common lah... good FC n performance.
guess u r not new in car...sure u will hv a good check on this starlet b4 u buy. -
You might as well go for a kelisa or a picanto if you are looking for a budget car.
The starlet at this age is quite difficult to mantain due to wear and tear.

I used to drive a '90 Starlet, it was one of the more memorable cars I've driven.
FC is good, abt 12 - 13km/litre, mine had a 'taxi' gear, super loose and easy to slot around,... ... like jacky chan in thunderbolt.... hahaha
But most memorably, my starlet saved my wife, my father in law, my sister in law and my life once... we survived a side-on crash by a kuku lady driver at Pasir Panjang abt 4 years ago, the starlet was sturdy enough to withstand the bulk of the impact without causing any major injuries in us, phew...
I always belive that if it was any other car of the same size, we would have been dead...the kuku was driving really fast, trying to beat the red light...
dynamics wise, it is fun to chuck around corners but remember that you will have to fork out money for a few items... Air-con, suspension dampers and check the engine bay for signs of previous damage (esp radiator).
I will never forget driving the starlet at 100km/h and feeling as excited as driving my galant at 140km/h...
Drive safe, get well ok.. and stay clear of kuku female drivers... -

Anyway, since already have a car, why not pull some funds together and upgrade the old one, instead of a second car. Cause if budget in mind, it is definitely more affordable to own 1 new car than 2 old cars.
