Cars around $20-30k

  Are 2nd cars which cost around $20k worth buying? Heard from people that these cars are potential to have alot of problems, with all the money spent for maintainence, it might sum up to around $30+k

  Even so, I would get a car that can less me 10 years instead of anything less than that. Since we already know that the more you change car, the more money you lose, apart of those you have already lost when you can a car.

  Depends on the driver's driving habit I would say. There's people driving cars for less than 10 years and change. Typical changes I see is within 5 - 8 years.
