Wonder if you drivers have this experience of entering a carpark that uses barrier entry, such as shopping centres, commercial buildings or even hotels without knowing the cost of the parking?
Well with the new cash card ERP like barrier, more often than not, most ppl just zoom through the carpark. Who actually did check how much the parking costs before entering? I know the management would put the price list at the entrance.
But should you feel that its too expensive to park at that particular carpark, can we do a U-Turn? I know some carparks have grace period but there are some who does not. Paying $5 per entry last night shocked me into thinking about this.
I am not being cheapskate but I felt the price should be clearly defined and not be a muddle of figures at the entrance. Under the pressure of the car behind, we tend to enter the carpark anyway..
Anyone with similar experiences?
Just a thought...

Ya!! Thats what I meant! Sighz.. Rasing ERP. Raising Parking cost.. thus no much difference if COE drops... Hope we dont become like HK where we have to buy parking lots.. hahaha. Cost of an apartment for a carpark slot!!Originally posted by DummiesInc:Actually under Singapore law, the management of the carpark should display the parking rates clearly before the gantry and allow drivers to make a decision whether or not to actually enter the carpark. However, more often than not, once we can actually see the rates, there is no way out of the carpark except through the gantry.
Some underground carparks are like so messed up.. Sometimes, we need to take a few rounds to exit... i think by then.. 10mins 20secs.. heheheOriginally posted by SBS9828X:maybe they can implement a 10 min free or sumthing like dat? so that even if u cant go out at the entry, u can still make 1 round and go out again?
shaw tower have grace period. I tested before.... less then 5 mins I exited. it show grace period. I tink your fren took longer then that.Originally posted by photo_seeker:I think somewhere before the entrance of the carpark, they should put up a sign stating the parking fee. Especially if you're first timer parking there, 9 out 10 chance is that you won't know the parking fee and some places are so expensive. The sign should actually be displayed in a place where you can still decide whether to utilise the carpark or search for another since it's too costly to park.
Example are Shaw Tower, the parking charges are so high and yet no grace period and thus the other time my friend drove there to pick up an article from the office cost us $6
