Dun worry.. once u own a car.. u will find it VERY difficult to live without one.. in sales or not! wahahaaa!!Originally posted by BlurBlur84:i am really in a delimma now.... i know that COE price are low but i am worry that 2 or 3 years down the road and i decide to change the working enviroment not into sales line and i need to sell away the car and in the end i will fork up the money to sell away the car like same cases that i read abt from the forum. that y i am thinking of taking up a second hand car rather than a first hand..
Thanks Edminski for comparision...... do u know the interest rate for second hand car now? i under that second hand car do have their cons but my main worries for first hand car will be the selling away issues when i decide to sell away due to change of job...Originally posted by Edminski:Try calculate the monthly instalment for the new car and 2nd hand car. Comparing:
New car:
1) New Road tax absorbed in the car already
2) Low maintenance cost
3) Low monthly instalment
4) Some cars give you free insurance
5) Re-financing. Get some cash back
Biggest worry is whether your job is stable or not. If you lose your job,you will be in deep trouble
Old car:
1) High monthly instalment.
2) Some cars required you to pay road tax
3) Pay insurance yourself
4) Everything is 2nd hand. Soon, you have to change tire, change timing belt, air con no good etc. I experienced this b4. Bought a 2nd hand 2years old Lancer. Wah, i change this change that, ended up paying extra near $2k.
So you have to be careful whether is the 2nd car good or not. Look out for the car's tire. See whether is it going to wear off soon. Test drive the car, see if the brake got any squeee sound. If got squeee sound, dont buy cos the brake rotor may going to spoilt soon. Change rotor + brake pad cost you abt $500 ah
yes,if 3years down the road you decided to sell away, definitely you need to fork out a few thousandsOriginally posted by BlurBlur84:hey guys... need ur advise...

ya got it, you got the point tooOriginally posted by huoye:i think u forgot the most impt point. why dun u calculate if u drive both ur cars for 1.6yrs which one will lose more money...
New car:
1) New Road tax absorbed in the car already ( for 6mths? old cars usually have road tax left too)
2) Low maintenance cost ( both car cost should be the same. just that u need to overhaul the 2nd hand car once straight after u get it estimate abt $1k max)
3) Low monthly instalment ( low instalment but longer loan period)
4) Some cars give you free insurance ( for a year only)
5) Re-financing. Get some cash back ( u already lose out in Rule 78. wun save in fact u lose more if loan not substantial enough)
2nd hand cars r good for drivers who wish to change cars every few years. 1st hand car is good if the driver wants to keep it for long. but usually if u keep a car for long problems will also start coming from the car which brings u back to square 1 actually.
Not many people can afford to lose 20k - 30k every few years just to change from 1 new car to the other.![]()

Someone from other car forum said it's made in thailand but if I'm not wrong, I remember it's made in japan.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
