What's the average waiting time for delivery of new car?

Hi all!
I would like to know what's the average waiting time between getting the COE and taking delivery of the new car
I booked a new car last month, and the salesman said that he has obtained an open cat COE for me in the first week of february. But when i asked him what's the value of the COE that he has gotten, he kept saying that he does not know. And he says must wait till at least March before I can get the car.
I called him several times and he kept saying that they have to 'prepare' the car, send for polishing etc. This is already the last week of Feb and i'm wondering, what's taking them so long? No news of registration, no request for my i/c, whatsoever.
Is it normal to have to wait for 1 month+ (or more) between getting the COE and taking delivery of the car, or is the salesman/company playing punk with me?? Are they holding on to my deposit, hoping that they can secure a lower COE in subsequent biddings (since contractually, they have 6 tries)? Hmmm...

Whereas for the common cars like altis, sunny, camrys and cefiros, for which the design has been around for years, i can't imagine that they don't have a ready stock. And besides the SE could have informed me if that was indeed the case. -
Once car is in SGP and allocated to you, should take about 1 week to get it ready (reverse camera, GPS, etc).
If its longer than that, prob you car is still on the ship or the SE screw-up big time !!!
I waited four weeks after getting cat B COE cos the color I want no stock, but the SE kept me informed of the shipment. -
If its a open cat COE.. u should normally get the car in 14 days.
In your case, it sounded like PI. I guess they are waiting for the COE to drop again before getting you one. -
I booked my car in Early Feb and my SE said I'd have to wait till end March/early April. That's about 2 months... but he did explain that the car was only scheduled for production this month, so it will take a while for it to arrive on our shores, after which there's the preparation time as mentioned above.
It's a Lancer, btw. -

I booked the pre-facelifted cefiro lor, and the SE even told me when i booked that they have only 3 colours left in their warehouse. So can't be still on the ship.. But ya, i think informing the customer of what's going on/causing the delay is the least that the dealer/SE can do... rather than needing me to bug him again and again and then have him to keep telling me some ambiguous stuff like car send for polishing etc etc. -

I'm not sure if it comes with blackened tail light housing though. The one in the showroom was normal silver, but someone told me that the new ones come with the blackened version. Any idea?

just booked a tucson early this month. will be getting it on 16th March cuz of colour unavailability.

i booked my latio at ubi on 4/12. got the COE Open Cat on 7/12. the SE collected the remaining booking fee on 10/12. they had the red latio in stock. i collected on 4/1. my SE kept me updated all the time and she was very attentive to my questions regarding the COE etc cos this is my first time buying a new car. my previous ride was a secondhand car.
my experience with tan chong ubi was great. no problems at all. -
End of the day, it all boiled down to the quality of the SE that you got.
Some may not be honest with their update. -

Got it for about $52k, plus a few extra freebies. Helps that the SE was an old friend. -
tan chong had to fork out $500 in order to obtain the COE.

booked my lancer on 11 Feb... SE did not bid for me in Feb Second bidin and to my surprise today too...
Initialli told me shipment comin on 18 march... Now say delay...
Anyone who booked around the same time? Siaz, dun know what goin on, now COE goin up, who know, later ask me to top up...
Bte, just wonder when you need to pay the remaining payment (i mean after debucting the loan & deposit)...

My SE has been holding on to my IC for 2 weeks, when he took it he said he was going to register the car, payment was also made then.
Now, I just called him up and know what he told me? That they are still queueing to register the car!
I was like...
Register car also need to queue meh? And even if so, need so long??
I really dunno what's going on now...

What i know is, if they have ready stocks than once the next COE bidding is over, they will be able to give you ur car in 7 to 10 working days. Tell your SE , no matter how bad the Q in LTA to reg ur new car, it could be done in 1 day, if the Q is so bad, go early to do lah, dont tell me by the time LTA office close they can't clear the Q and ask plp to leave meh.
