for p plate holders... if u ever got into accident with a TAXI.. yes.. goddamn taxi.. they will always scare u like..they gonna report to TP... and ur license will get revoked..
those despicable drivers will ask you to settle privately which will cost you a bomb..repairing their car... your car...(most of the time they will ask for 'loss of income' )
the truth is..taxi drivers has to pay to the company regardless is their fault or not so they die die also wanna keep their record clean ( get it) so they will scare the shit out of new drivers... so new drivers.. do not panic when they scare you or wanted to call the TP..challenge them to call TP cos TP wont even bother them UNLESS THERE IS INJURIES... if no injuries..taxi drivers also take advantage of the situation... i have been in the situation before so i know... damn taxi drivers...

There are good ones too. Once, I wacked into the rear of a taxi. The driver made a call to his workshop and I settled privately with him for $190. The strange thing was the amount; not $200 or more but $190. Seemed reasonable to me then and now.
Of course, if he wants the sky then do all things officially. Take photos of the taxi, before he repair from non-of-your too.

yeah, my friend kena carrot head once by a taxi driver.
he kiss the backside of the cab. nothing much. only a dent. can be repaired with some knocking bacl. the cabbie asked for 500 dollars! my friend new on the road scared shitless. say he only got 300 dollars how? the taxi ask for everything.....
just only i was on the BKE this damn driver was on the right most lane, i was left most. i signal i want to go middle lane. and this damn taxi driver just cut into centre lane with out signalling behind me , nearly kissing my backside (my whole bumper + boot cover was oreadi buang last nite. so i dun mind him buang and pay for it anyway)
den he still have the cheek to highbeam me. next i saw him swerving in and out of the traffic without signalling. some cars have to jam brake cos he cut damn close to them.
too bad i cnat get the plate number. if not i confirm write e-mail.
p/s: yeah my dad's a cabbie too, but he's definately not one of those aggro type. he got my whole family in mind while driving. -

I've seen taxi drivers hogging the roads too, for example, they will drive in the middle of two lanes!! half of the taxi will be one lane while the other half will be on the next lane!!
suddenly stop their cabs to pick up passenagers without even signal-in....
Pls guys, see a taxi on the road, apply defensive dirving... best try not to drive behind them... better safe than sorry...

sometimes passengers fault also.. passengers cant decide left or right one min left nxt min right.. last min decisions also result in driver making sudden moves n turns etc..

4500 is a big amount and any tom dick or harry will know that to let the insurance company settle it unless you have a huge bank account. That is, if you are really at fault. Taxi repairs actually quite cheap, becos their spare parts very very easy to get.. so that 4500 is really too much
So next time if get into these situation with cabbies just call police/ TP can liao?

Some Taxi Drivers are driving dangerously. Better to be careful with those dangerous driving. Any accidents, let TP settle if they want. See who's at fault.

Points are only deducted by TP/LTA.
In order for points to be demerit, a level of action need to be in place. such as reckless driving. speeding etc.
Involving in an accident which you clearly knows that its not your fault how will get demerit points. And bTw...if someone says you will get points deducted, ask that person, are you a TP? If not, how you know will get deducted.
Like what one of the forum pple says..." got problem... find my lawyer..." thats a good one.
Another thing to do if kenna accident, quickly take out a camera or camera phone and start taking pictures. Only after taking the pictures, then start to talk to the opposite driver. In this way, it is telling the involved party that you know your stuff and dun play punk with you.
Or best, get a copy of accident report form from idac and put inside the car for just in case. If they start to argue or talk nonsense to distract you, show them whats written on the first page of the form. "Keep calm". lolz -

actualli i see my dad i feel veri sorrie.. i kip spending his money al this.. when taxis haf accident, it even includes cars kissing them, if u report to police, they wil lose their deposit $1000.. tat means they haf to find means to repay the deposit $1000 again within a period of time.. tat time my dad's front kiss a car as that person suddenly stop in the middle of the road.. behind oso tio kissed by another car.. wah lao reali can feel hw my dad feel sia... the $$$ involved.. no earnings..

well, before everyone sweep the cabbies. just remember that many are earning a living for families. only some handful are Wong Eight Egg.some had been driving on the road for long hours and still have to go on for the family.

if u smash into taxi, license is gone only depends on how the smashed occurs, not the fact that u smashed into it.
accident best stay in the car lar.. if other party wants a confrontation, u just drive off.. -

neway, in sg most of the case, if someone hit ur back, it's 99% you'll win the case unless as such, like urs. simply because the cab driver didn't keep a safe distance, the cabbie insist he keep a very safe distance but my fren jam brake to sudden... my frend replied, do u know what's the meaning of "keep a distance" ?? it is at any point of time, when the guy in front of u jam brake could be due to sudden hazard or like his an inconsiderate one who jam brake only for a turn, he should always have stop on time, if he can't ... it's obvious his "keeping a safe" distance isn't safe enuff as he can't react to such ... thus, my frnd claim all under his insurance, even get a car replacement for the days when the car is in the workshop ......
no doubt this is more like a case of inconsiderate driver but moral of the story is, try avoid accident, even if u can't avoid one, pray that it's somebody else who hit ur back, not ur the one .... -
