Hi guys how to "protect" youself when buying new car ?
I still have the feeling that my contractor tried ways to charge me more for everything when I did my renovation to my HDB years ago.
Like in car so what are the standard which inclusive ? they can name u a very low price then add all the things like Leather seats, alarm, centre lock, recerse senors , etc at extra cost ?
Does the cd player/radio a standard cannot chose type ?
Anyone upgrade to dvd player , or install even a LCD screen ? -
best way not to be robert is to bring someone dat is in the car line to go

The best is don't buy car at all. Take public transport.
Most common cars like altis, vios, lancer and city has a basic model which offers a lower price compare to the premium or sports version which require you to top up a bit.
Some of these basic models usually don't come with leather seats, sport rims, foglight, rev sensor, air bag and ABS.
But swift and EX sunny come with the above except foglight. -

But they would want you to buy at as close to advertised price.
This is what usually happens, Car is advertised at $60k.
You go see the salesman, you say you want to buy.
He will immediately tell you, i can give you a $500 personal discount.
it isfrom here where you can fight and bargain.
USUALLY, you can push him to throw in accessories of up to $500-800.
For my case, i managed to make him give me Alarm and Alloy rims. on top of $2500 discount.
Its not easy... but you must be persistant and somehow abit nasty also. Must play basted abit.
