Reasons why cars don't signal

frankly speaking, drivers who don't signal are generally very poor and weak in their driving and steering wheel control. On our roads, you don't see many drivers signalling when making a turn or changing lanes, this is because these drivers are not skilful enough to signal, check mirrors and turn their steering wheel at the same time in one movement and at high speed, shame on these people who have difficult signalling, these bunch of drivers whose skills are below average should go and enrol for driving refresher's course and polish up their driving skills.But on second thoughts, we should not blame them for their poor skills but should sympathize with them instead. Hopefully with more training, they can improve their skills to signal when changing lanes and also to turn off their signal after changing lanes.

maybe they forget to as for the sigal light when buying the car!!!!

Sometimes got signal also no use.
Eg: Chiong from right or middle lane to the left turning lane, cutting everyone in the middle and left lanes off. -
because we have parents, driving instructors and friends who will make us look stupid if we signal.

If no cars infront or behind still need to signal anot?
If you're forcefully cutting into a lane you think signaling will help you look more polite and ppl will let you pass?
If you're on the left lane and the only turn the left lane brings you is well, left, isn't it obvious to the cars behind that you're going... left.

Some drivers are just too jaded to bother with overly excessive and unneccessary signaling. Use your common sense lah, sometimes really no need to signal. If you like you signal like, who gives a damn. Lemme guess, you're still under probation? I don't know why maybe the "tic tuc tic tuc" gives beginners some sorta enjoyment. I'd call it ego boosters.
P.S: The only trick to good driving is knowing where your four wheels are. -
- i don't tailgate
- i alway give signal in advance
- i try hard to give way to bus/mass transportation service
- i never honk (I did this trice for last 10 years and two times by mistake)
- i try to turn on headlight in rain
- i try hard not to offend other driver even it's a lady driver
- if the lane is packed i usually deture, which my wife complain about
- i try hard to drive in the middle of lane (actually 1st lane to the right hand side)
- i wave to thank for the driver gives me way
- i don't drive after drinking
Plus, i try to stick my left hand on streering wheel (for safty and for preventing it from middle fingerring)
(but sometime i have very strong urge to slap some drivers or wish i could be a some freak monster everybody is afraid of)
as I think above is basic road etiquette. Anway i may not be a talented kiasu. -
because they belong to the group.

hmm. for me i dont know why but its a habit already. b4 i turn the steering wheel in whichever direction sure will signal in that direction (99% of the time).
true that sometimes after ur signal light comes on the other car will speed up and not let u pass in front of him. but then again that can be countered by making sure u're in the correct position(already in front of him) and signal and turn in front of him at the same time. so now i dont really get people who speed up and not let me pass.
but then sometimes when weaving right most lane to left most lane (2 cars same speed side by side on lane 1 & 2 road hogging) back to right most lane (slow heavy vehicles on lane 3 and 2) and suddenly to middle lane (like when a taxi decides to go lane 1 in front of u) i still find myself signalling for every lane change.
summary: i think its a habit thing. -
Somehow, Shame on us Singaporeans, I am not the most season driver... But somehow, SB,SC,SD,SF,SG drivers are worse of lot... not saying that i am not one of them...
Signal, i do signal... but sometime the frustration comes when you signal for 5 mins and all the KS(be it kiasu, kiasee, kia zheng wu or simply can't wait to die) Singaporeans will just continue going forward and refuse to let you out... Look at Causeway jam lar, comparing ratio, Malaysian drivers queue, but singaporean drivers cut left n right... You signal, malaysian driver will let you go, but if it's a singaporean will just move forward and MAKE sure you can't go...
Malaysian drivers see a fast approaching vehicle, or see someone high beam, they siam for you... Singaporean drivers(most of them) see someone high beam or approaching fast, they got 2 reaction... either slow down or jam brake...
There are good singaporean drivers out there... but majority of them needs to major improvement...
I believe for most people, If you can't beat them, join them... -
All my friends who drives have a habit to signal even when they're in carpark. Which I find it very safe to ride with them

i always signal whenever i'm changing lanes or making a turn etc..
i signal soooo often that my dad scolds me.. haha. he say if he's driving the car behind me, he will feel damn irritated!
