  i think my friend driving this. auto one. everytime go up benjamin sheares or just any slope have to put to lower gear. but as usual, Getz FC.. zzz.

  given a choice i wont buy a getz. lousy fc. for a 1.1L, u may be better off gettin a picanto. if u dnt mind FC then e getz should be ok for u. jus bear in mind tat is has lousy FC.

  Getz is more spacious then Picanto ...
  The price is pretty close oso.
  Getz 1.1 don't come with front power window but you can negotiate it as a freebies from the SE
  Some said 1.1 Getz can fetch 15km/litre

  Getz 1.1 is a simple car. Cannot expect too much. My fren driving it. Point A to B ok.

  I don't think your friend driving a Getz1.1, must be a Getz 1.3. Cause Getz1.1 is a manual only car. And thus it have about the same FC as picanto and similar power.

  ic. thanks for the correction. he was just telling me to get the 1.6 one coz' his has problems gg up inclines. but i dun wanna getz. my dad.. i still dono wad he wants

  Actually the reason for the sluggish feel for 1.3 auto Getz when going all slope is because it is auto. Auto-transmission, it only down-gear after the engine feel sluggish. So unless you forcefully induce the down-shifting, else you will feel that the car is dying. For manual, you can down-shift when expecting the slope, so car feels powerful all the way.
  
  I wonder if anyone drives the 1.3A Getz and forcefully induce downshifting? Would it feel much better?

  from wat i understand, getz 1.1L manual is actually friendly in terms of FC as compared to 1.3L and above. however, this only applies to manual, and not auto. i'm also thinking of getting 1.1L manual.

  I'm driving 1.3A Getz
  
  50% HDB 50% Expressway
  
  FC 9.5 ~ 11km/l
  
  but new 1.4A DOHC, heard can achieved 11~14km/l
  
  as 1.4A DOHC claims to be 10% more powerful than 1.3A, i think 11~14km/l is realistic.

  Then you might want to consider other makes like Picanto and kelisa which comes with auto-transmission. You are driving more often than you are pumping petrol, so think about it. Of course performance it is also weaker than manual cars generally, so don't get fustrated when you car can't keep up with the traffic.

  It is possible 15km/L using a MT and with driving in Super-saving Mode.
  
  My fren matrix can get 850 with full tank. MT of coz...seldom on a/c... free gear down slope etc....
  
  It all depends on the driving method
